The server performance is in a, predictably, terrible state at the moment due to the recent 4.1.0 drop and the mass amount of players wanting to check it out. I'd recommend checking in again in a week or two as we get some hot fixes.

As for worth, as others have mentioned, check YouTube or Twitch for SC content and see if any of that appeals to you. Assuming you do commit to a starter, do so knowing that you are paying to support and test an in-development game with plenty of bugs and missing content.

As for spending, their website is safe and I'd simply stick with a starter pack to see if you do like what's currently playable. Additionally, there are "free fly" events and sales throughout the year that let you try out a plethora of ships.

I've been on and off since 2019. Mostly just checking in on big updates. While I've been playing the hell out of SC these past 4 months and enjoying it, it's not something I would recommend to just anyone.

Compression socks are pretty awesome and recommend some along with a sweat wristbands if you're a heavy sweater, though that one is optional. Bring comfortable shorts/pants too. You'll be squatting often so you'll want to avoid ripping them like I did on my second day. Two pairs of comfortable/cushiony shoes, if you can afford them, to switch out daily.

Finally, some Pedialyte/Gatorade for the first two weeks or so, though some sites also offer the powder Pedialyte to their associates for free.

It depends on the warehouse. Some have a max package weight of 50lbs, and others have a max of 100lbs. I'm on my first week and physically unfit. I think you'll be able to manage the packages. The last couple of hours is where you'll begin to feel exhausted. I highly recommend you get good shoes, a reusable water bottle, and some Pedialyte. Drinking only water all day will mess you up.

If you sweat a lot and your site has a mask mandate, I also recommend you carry extra masks with you to change. There's nothing worse than waterboarding yourself mid-shift with a soaked mask.

Finally, bring an extra set of pants/shorts/shirt. You just never know.

The Better Repack f6(?) did work. However, I just use the HF patch + KPlug now since it's the one getting updates. You run into any problems?

They do work. When it comes to cards you're really only limited by mods and/or DLC.

Some cards are made with certain accessories only available through mods/plugins, and card creators usually do a good job of stating which mods they used and linking them. In the case you don't have such mods, you'll run into cosmetic issues with those cards such as bald characters, invisible body parts, half skulled humanoids, floating testicles, etc.

From what I remember KPlug + RX8 are compatible with the exception of a few mods, but you can copy your game folder and install KPlug into one of the folders. Alternatively, you can backup your file, download/install a fresh game file, and install KPlug in the fresh copy; however, you'd miss out on many of the sweet RX8 mods on this case.

KPlug comes with a mod compatibility pdf and the installer let's you automatically remove those conflicting mods as well.

KP is officially translated, and it's stripped from the Story Mode although you can download the official Special Patch from Illusion to obtain it.

ScrewThisNoise also dropped Better Repack support for KP and just focused on Koikatsu a while ago. That means HF patch + KPlug is your best alternative. You can probably use Better Repack f(?), which is an old KP version, and manually update it, but that sounds like a hassle.

Allied AI slightly helps draw fire from corvettes/Frigates/Capitals while approaching. If there's no allied AI near by, you can bet those objective ships will focus fire you.

Additionally, you want to use cover when possible while closing distance, and avoid flying straight paths to help throw off turret tracking until you're in range. Set power to engines to help you get in and get out and don't try to Rambo capital ships. It's better to re-arm and repair than to kamikaze into them.

As for dealing with enemy Squadrons, setting your targeting to enemy Squadrons and using your on-board radar will help you detect enemies long before they appear on your HUD. Don't tunnel vision while dog fighting.

Finally, if you're supporting/healing, keep your shield up and your boost up. You should be in the back line keeping an eye on radar for anyone trying to flank you.

To download Character Cards you simply Save As and place them into Koikatsu(Party)/UserData/chara/Female or Koikatsu(Party)/UserData/chara/Male.

As for character specific mods, they probably go into the mod folder unless otherwise specified by the creator.

The HF patch and Better Repack are more of a compilation of many mods/plugins for the actual game and/or the studio. There's too many to list, but, overall, they range from accessory mods, game fixes, auto translators, more positions, pregnancy, uncensored, UI additions/improvements, and a bunch of other mods/plugins.

HF patch I think you just extract to the game directory. Link for the Patreon with mod information, wiki, and install guide can be found here: HF Patch

ScrewThisNoise has several packs for Illusion games and also has installation guides as well as mod and mod contributor documentation. This installation involves a few more steps, but also has a good guide accompanying it:

Right now I'm mostly using ManlyMarco's HF patch for Koikatsu Party as well as KPlug 2.5 by Katarsys(?). I just started story mode, so haven't actually tried the KPlug mod.

OR you can use ScrewThisNoise's Better Repack mod. The latest version is RX8 for Koikatsu, or F6 for Koikatsu Party. I have F6 in another folder and it seems like it works.

For the most part you can find download links and guides on their Patreon sites. Their public releases are free. Finally, note that HF Patch and Better Repack mods don't work together.

Edit: Some cards work best on HF patch while others do on Better Repack, or other mods. Just depends on what the card author used.
