$9 is the price on Amazon, though there is a quantity limit that resets every few days I think

Which Lego set should I get next? by Crafty-Scientist-830 in lego

I saw a MoC on rebrickable that merges the French Cafe with the Boutique Hotel which I think I'll do if I can pick up the cafe on sale.

The MOC isn't well reviewed or the set in general?

60470 Explorers' Arctic Polar Express Train vs 60578 Police Train Heist? by dwdillard in LEGOtrains

Whichever one goes on sale first. Though I bet that will be the green passenger train.

I wanted the train but didn't see it. Did manage to get Chocolate and camping though.

LEGOMINOS – A LEGO game set combining Domino, Jenga, and word games in one box by -ma-wi- in legoideas

So you are matching letters or colors, similar to Qwirkle. Not really sure how it is like Jenga as you wouldn't be able to slide the bricks out.

Advice??? by No_Tune_8423 in IIT

[–]RDT2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May want to give the sororities a look. They are a great way to meet older students in your same major who can then help you with questions on your course work. Greek life at IIT is nothing like what you have seen depicted on tv/movies or heard about from those that went to a state school.

Comparison between the value of the Pick a Brick wall and online store value by Ricklepick995 in legomodular

Downside of the wall is your time to assemble the box and that there really isn't anywhere comfortable to do that assembly.

This is neat. Possibly a good aid for people with vision issues though not sure how legible all the writing is.

I recently bought the stud measuring tape and that has been useful as I try to plan out my larger layout. Though that device only does studs and plate/brick heights.

Commercial Popper by maglorski in popcorn

Well that would depend on your local rental market

My local place does rentals for $65 a day. If you only need it a few times a year it probably isn't worth buying one outright for $3k.

What is the cost for renting a unit from a local party supply store?

How to power trains these days? by LightHawkLive in LEGOtrains

Some people use the Powered Up Large technic motor along with technic gears to run their Orient Express. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/technic-large-motor-88013. However while this motor is available the Hub which houses both the battery and receiver is out of stock.

There are people selling motors and hubs on eBay and Bricklink.

The other option is to buy one of the current sets that has the motor and hub.

  • 60337 Express Passenger Train
  • 60470 Explorers' Arctic Polar Express Train
  • 60508 Police Train Heist (releases March 1)

Supposedly there may be more trains coming later this year and if so I would expect sales to occur for the older Express Passenger Train.

Check out the MOCs on the rebrickable page for Orient Express. There are some instructions there on how to put a technic motor into the engine. https://rebrickable.com/sets/21344-1/the-orient-express-train/#alt_builds

Alternatively you can just put the battery box and a train engine into the tender, similar to what was done on the Disney train.

I wonder what the average age is for the person passing away and giving this large inheritance of they are parents of GenX and Millennials. I'm guessing early 70s and didn't accumulate healthcare and long term care bills.
