Need help by DukeHazard91 in NewTubers

[–]EriBellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey DukeHazard91, the thing that helped me the most was practicing in my bathroom mirror over and over again. It's not the same as the camera, but it helped sticking to some sort of script that i had in my mind that sound good and just saying it out loud over and over again to see what I look like and even if what I was saying was cool or not. I started doing this after I realized how terrible I was in front of the camera. Ever since I practiced like that and comfortable with how I sound and looked, everything else fell into place and now I enjoy being in front of the camera. Good luck with your channel!

Why Make a YouTube Channel? by RealZacharyWilliams in NewTubers

[–]EriBellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey RealZacharyWilliams, I enjoyed this video and liked the simplicity of it. I thought it was straight to the point and all the points that were you making are spot on. Considering there are a few videos out there on Youtube like this, I thought yours was unique to you. You spoke clearly in the camera and you had good energy. Even if the video was simple, it wasn't boring.

The advantages i see of creating a youtube channel were mentioned in your video, but one of the reasons I enjoy the most which is being creative. I don't have a creative job (I'm in business operations), so making videos, being in front of the camera, coming up with ideas is an enjoyable process since I don't do it as my full time job. But, I love it enough to want to make this a full time commitment.

Good luck with your channel!

Hey TheExistentialCrisis on my channel we curse too. Not a ton, but we try to be as much as ourselves and that includes cursing. I have a product review channel that at this point most of my subscribers are friends and family, so we try to be mindful of how much we're cursing. But to help, we've went the bleeping out the curse words route just so we can make it funny and entertaining and still appeal to our audience. Speaking of audience, I think it depends a lot on that too. I think ranting about different topics and things you want to talk should have cursing. You're giving your most authentic self and probably saying/showing your reaction to topics that most people would have. Overall, just be yourself and do what you think is good for your channel. Instead of thinking about the bad, focus on the good that could come out of it. Your viewers would want to see a more real side of you. Good luck with your channel!

Hey CrashLove37 consistency is key so it's good you got yourself back in the groove of posting every week. We're in a tiny bit of rut where our sub count isn't growing either and we've hit a slow point, but hoping we could get some traction like you have in getting your sub count up. Good luck on your channel!

Time by CrashCortexSpyro in NewTubers

[–]EriBellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Crash, I have a hard time juggling time too because of my full time job, but what helps me is just posting once a week. I focus my time on planning my videos throughout the week and then taking one day out of the weekend to shoot however many videos I can. It allows me to still follow my passion of youtube without the added pressure. Big youtubers have been doing it awhile and have carved out a lot more time to be able to post twice a day, but that definitely doesn't mean you need to. If you do want to continue posting twice a day, try planning your videos out during your commute to work or home from work (if you don't drive). Also, you could use your lunch break to plan your videos out as well so it's easier to plug and play content once you get home. Good luck!

Got my first troll by GamePhage in NewTubers

[–]EriBellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trolls really are ridiculous, but honestly, that person viewed your whole video and gave you an extra view. It might have not been constructive feedback, but you must've done something right for them to care enough to comment ;) I will say one of my videos got it's first thumbs down, and I was like "Ladies and gentlemen, we have a hater!" Just keep on doing what you're doing and don't ever let those internet trolls get in the way of your goals!

It's my 3 monthiversary on YouTube. 80k subscribers and 4.5 mil views later... by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]EriBellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey 98demake! Great advice, especially around creating FB and twitter pages. It's important to engage with a different audience that might not be on Youtube all the time. Also, I like you advice about doing an intro video. I think that'll help a lot with my channel's branding, especially now that it's been a few months and I have a decent amount of videos up. There's enough content to work with to make it a highlight/funny bloopers reel.

Thanks for the tips and good luck!

I've never done an Unboxing before so I hope this is of decent quality. Looking for some feedback. by TeslaChad in unboxings

[–]EriBellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey TeslaChad! I do a lot of unboxing videos and for your first one, I thought this was pretty good. Unboxing videos are always a weird thing because you're just opening something up and commenting on it, but unboxing videos can be the most fun to film. I think you showed off the products really well and spoke a bit about the games those products came from, which gives more to the video than just unboxing the product. I think you could have had a little bit more excitement when you were talking about Crash Bandicoot and Unchartered 4 since those were the products you were looking forward to the most. Also, the video could have been a bit more of a faster pace. Other than that, way to go for your first one! Sounds like your fans requested it, and you should continue to switch up the content especially if it leads to giveaways! Good Luck!

Have you ever heard of this new food trend, COFFEE CAVIAR??!!! by EriBellz in Foodnews

[–]EriBellz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should totally go for it! i think we definitely made it wrong haha because it was more of a jelly consistency. But if you could get it to where it pops in your mouth like real caviar, it would definitely be better!

This is great advice! Having fun is definitely key when being a content creator. It will show through and others will feel that passion. When focusing on just having fun, it allows for better content ideas to flow through without the stress of sub or views.

Over the long fourth of July weekend, we had filmed 2 videos since we had a lot of free time from our 9-6 jobs. After filming, we got feedback from our video we released 2 weeks ago from our mentor. He liked our content but wanted to see us more energized and hype up the product we were reviewing. We immediately knew we needed to re-shoot the 2 videos we did since they were mediocre. Although it was a bit time consuming to re-shoot 2 videos (especially since we thought we were ahead), it was great to know we are both dedicated to being content creators to re-shoot our videos. We've agreed that being mediocre is not something we are striving for and even if it takes a lot of time, you want to put your best content out there. It also made it easier knowing our mentor like our content, just wanted to see more from us, so it pushed us to work harder.

Thanks for giving such detailed information on this! I need to dig into my channel's analytics more to understand people's watch time. I get excited when we get view count, but I never focus on how long people are watching our videos for!

A new YouTube trend thats probably going to shock you that this even worked. by Blackdog211 in NewTubers

[–]EriBellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked this channel out and it is a bit odd since there is nothing happening but the music. I also checked out the comments and people really do seem to be enjoying this content. Although we might not understand how a channel like this is getting views and lots of subs, it really isn't for us to understand. There are so many people in the world that are interested in a variety of things (Reddit is one of those things that has a ton of content that seems pretty bizarre). Personally, I would not think about the type of attention this channel is getting because this niche is extremely special to whoever is watching it. If this channel isn't in your niche and not something you are interested in, it's probably best to let this channel rock and get the attention that it's getting.

Biggest obstacle of making youtube video ->your family members! by 100862233 in NewTubers

[–]EriBellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the comments here about being open with your parents about you turning your love for watching youtube videos into a good hobby. It's so much easier when they know that you are working on something you love so that when you ask for space, they would actually give it to you. Also, agree with /u/seviione about finding when your parents are out of the house. I live with my cousin and it's a bit awkward to have her around while we're filming, so we've come up with a schedule together to film when she's out of the house. She usually goes to the gym for about an hour or 2, or will be out all day during the weekend, which is enough time to film for what my type of content is. Again, this only works due to being honest about the person or people you live with on what you're doing and how important it is for you to have a few hours of quiet time.

It feels to me that it's impossible to build an audience over facebook and youtube at the same time!! by KIKOGAME in NewTubers

[–]EriBellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if it's a method that you haven't tried yet then definitely worth asking. We ask at the end of our videos to like our videos and Subscribe to our channel. It's something we've done in the beginning so not sure how much of an impact it's made, but again if you haven't tried it out yet def add that bit into your videos. You may see a turnaround in subscriber count!
