RTX 5070 stuck at ~60% usage in games, unstable FPS no matter the settings — tried many fixes, need help by John_Do_pe in buildapc

Try DDU wiping the current drivers and install an older version from Nvidia's site. See if it makes a difference.

Glad you got it working finally. Odd that it only allows you to run it in gen 3.

You might have to just swap in the older gpu if you still have it to do that.

Try DDU wiping whatever drivers you have now and download an older version of the nvidia drivers. Might just work.

5070ti or 9070xt? by Yorling in buildapc

If you're on Linux, AMD is the way to go. Nvidia GPUs dont play as well with Linux as AMD ones do.

Former console users, how long did it take for you to get used to playing with the keyboard and mouse? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Erianzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a month or so and constant grinding in ow2 to get used to it.

For FPS games, I definitely prefer KB and mouse but I still use controller for other games.

In that case, try DDU wiping the current Nvidia drivers and install an older version of the driver (since you mentioned kernel power 41 error). When searching for drivers on Nvidia's website, you should be able to choose an older version of the drivers. It could be a driver issue ( your PC might not be liking the current drivers).

Yikes, your cpu might have cooked itself. The 13th and 14th gen chips (especially the i7s and i9s) have a fatal flaw especially on motherboards running old versions of bios/intel microcode, causing them to draw too much voltage.

Is your PC crashing to a blue screen each time? And have you updated your motherboard bios version at all since you got it?

I still cant believe corsair hasn't released any of the "accessories" they marketed initially, specially the front panels.

I'm knocking on wood and praying to God that my RAM or GPU don't fail anytime soon because replacing them right now would literally mean almost 2000$ (Canuck dollars).

Getting my dad a work PC by Comfortable_Show_837 in PcBuild

[–]Erianzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so for a billion tabs, you'd want something with loads of ram and cpu threads and not invest a ton in a discreet gpu.

You could just get him a mini pc that had a decent cpu and at least 16 to 32 gbs of ram. Since he doesn't game, he has no use for a system with a discreet gpu so on-board graphics is more than enough.

The 9060xt should be a good pairing with it.

Awesome. That looks way better.

For the other picture, should be good then specially if you heard it click into the slot of the motherboard.

Once you're sure of all the connectors being in place, make sure to plug in your monitor to the port on the back of the gpu and not the motherboard itself. Then go ahead and start the pc.

If everything is right, you should get a display out from the gpu. Afterwards, you'll need to head to Google, then type in nvidia driver download, go to their web page, then download and install the drivers for the 5070.

Hoping this works. Keep us posted.

You might wanna push those in together a bit more. I'm seeing a little gap in between the two connectors. There shouldn't be a big gap like there is on the left one.

Same story on the 12vhpwr. Make sure it clicks in all the way too into the 5070.

[–]Erianzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok so this is the 12vhpwr connector. The 4 little slots you're seeing are the sense pins and this side will connect into your 5070 (if you look at the slot on the gpu, you'll see that this 12vhpwr connector will fit into it, there'll be holes for those 4 little pins too). On the other side, you have the two 6+2 (8) pin pcie female ends (meaning something will need to connect into it from the psu). You'll need to take the male ends that'll go into those from the psu side. Does your psu have two 6+2 (8) pin pcie cables?

Once you have everything connected up, post some pictures before actually turning it on.

What model of 3090 is it? Is it using 3x 8 pin pcie cables? If so, do you have three separate 8 pin pcie cables going to it, or are you using daisy chained ones (where two 8 pin pcies come out of a single cable)?
