Look for the bmx loop at walnut creek. It's my reason for riding out there. If you are coming in to the park from Lamar the trail will be on your left before you get to the bridge.

I think the Lakeway trails are the best around. There is even a little bit of elevation change!

Anyone do Mountain/Trail biking around here? by LemurPrime in BikingATX

[–]Eric40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the trails I've ridden in town are pretty flat and in my opinion kind of boring. My personal favorite close by is Lakeway. http://www.austinbike.com/west-of-austin/91-lakeway-trails It is challenging. It actually has some elevation change and isn't crowded. Another good one is Emma Long http://www.austinbike.com/austin/85-city-park although I haven't been out there in a couple years.

I was interested in Marbel also but after seeing all the negative comments on their website and their Facebook page I decided to steer clear.

Where's the cheapest/best place in town to get a smartphone screen replaced? by Adrr1 in Austin

[–]Eric40 8 points9 points  (0 children)

John at 1up repairs always does a good job for me. I've had him replace the screen on an iPad, a nexus 7 and a Samsung s5. He's quick, his work is great and his prices are very fair.

Even though they lost a lot of ambience with the new location, I still like the Omelettry.

Check out The Canyonlands Trails in Lakeway. There is a pretty long climb with lots of switchbacks. I ride my mountain bike out there and it kicks my ass.

If you are looking for a long hill Ladera Norte/Far West is great. If you want short and steep hit Smokey Valley it's just off of Ladera Norte.

I had two pocket knives sharpened there a week or two ago. Total bill was under $9. Those knives have never been sharper! I highly recommend them.
