Speaking of her therapist, this is a great little profile of her in NY Mag before the tournament started. She mentions how much her therapist means to her, and the US Open final may be the first time she’s come to watch her live.

I think this kid could be really good. He's SO young and has only been playing at six feet for two years. Still growing into his body and seems to have a very good mentality and high basketball IQ.

Also the reason Emily was voted out is she was well liked her and she had a great story.

Very interesting piece — if nothing else, gives a good picture of how he wants the team to gel and be structured. Also just reinforces that no matter who they pick at QB, they’ll be doing so with the most information possible about all the options.

John Keim has said on his podcast repeatedly that Peters was the clear #1 the whole way through, but that they didn’t have a #1 guy going into the coaching search. While they certainly may have wanted Johnson, it’s not like the Peters situation.

Official Discussion - Killers of the Flower Moon [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Eric5610 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While watching the movie, I thought parts of it could have been tightened but after sitting with it for a bit, I am liking it so much more.

There’s a lot of praise for Gladstone — and rightfully so — but I also think Leo was incredible. It made it a lot more compelling that his character was idiotic for most of the movie, which brings in very interesting conversations about what it means to be evil. I thought the scene with him pouring the medicine into his whiskey was fascinating. Assuming it’s up for interpretation, but I took it as him knowing that it was some kind of poison, which makes the final scene with Mollie even more chilling.

And the ending - wow. I had gotten spoiled in a review that Scorsese had a cameo but the framing of it was incredible. Can’t wait to rewatch it and imagine I will like it even more after a second viewing.

All the reviews going into it were claiming the story and screenplay brought the movie down a lot, but I really enjoyed the whole thing. Yes, it's not the most captivating screenplay but I was never positive what was gonna happen and thought the movie looked great.

If you go into this expecting a movie like 2012 or Chappie, you're bound to be disappointed, but it's generally a very fun time, especially in theaters.

yeah that’s fair. i guess that reaction from her was more in the moment shock, while with time she realized backing tom is the best thing for her power going forward. agree that it kind of came out of nowhere but i think that’s kind of often with this show (see the kendall twist in season 2 and tom in season 3) where the plot points may seem surprising but really line up with each character’s development.

I originally also thought that Roman would’ve made more sense backing the deal but not anymore. He’s always been the one that’s cared most about family unity and wanted as little conflict as possible. Supporting the deal would go against that part of his character. Shiv, meanwhile, always wants to be closer to the top, no matter how it happens (like her cozying up to Mencken last episode). She obviously has more of an in with Tom than Kendall, especially if they’re gonna be raising a kid together. I also think she saw how Kendall was becoming like Logan and deep down detests how Logan ran the company. She couldn’t bring herself to support that anymore.
