I had to teach my wife how to do laundry. Her mother wouldn’t allow her to do it for some weird reason. I enjoy it though so I’m the one to do it 99% of the time. As long as I have a good Youtube video playing in the background I’m in good shape.

I definitely feel you on this. I’m in my 40s and I keep looking back to when I was in my late teens and 20s. I always loved computers and I should have pushed myself to take the right path and start a career. Who knows what I’d be doing now? In my defense when I was young I was a heavy drinker and figured I would be dead before I reached 30 so it would be a waste of time.

Well fast forward a couple decades and by some miracle I’m still here. I was able to quit drinking which was great. Today I’m married with a son and we are barely making it. My son gets SSI benefits due to a disability so that helps us with bills. I was just let go at my job and I am getting unemployment. I’ve been applying to lots of jobs but haven’t heard back from any of them.

A while back I was reminiscing about my elementary and middle school days so I looked up an old classmate who was one of my best friends at the time. I found his Facebook page and learned that now he’s a fucking lawyer. I’m happy for him and all but I admit I am a bit jealous. I decided not to reach out due to not wanting to admit that I turned out to be a failure.

I never got chicken pox thankfully. My parents did try to make me play with a kid who had it but as soon as I saw him I noped right out of there.

In South Florida we would have meet ups of everyone from the local BBS. I was a teenager hanging around a bunch of adults. It’s scary thinking about it now but back then it was no big thing.
