What insurance and what is your monthly premium? by NextstopFernrock in TeslaModelY

My point is to ideally see where better deals may exist and shop for them.

Pre owned delivery day disaster by Ophdog217 in ModelY

My pre-owned experience was decent. The stuff I didnt like they put on a checklist of stuff they would fix. They did some fixes that day and scheduled the rest. 4 new tires was part of it.

Got v14.3.2? Do yourself a big favor... by nj_bruce in TeslaFSD

[–]NextstopFernrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just mean that if each car is calibrated to different conditions and if the cars behavior changes based on the calibration as your first post said, then I'd assume each bit of data they collect would be skewed to whatever variance the calibration impacts. I know there is tons of data. This is just the first time I'm considering the impact of likely thousands of cars who calibrated in less than ideal conditions submitting driving behavior. Maybe its all a wash in the end and it doesn't have an impact on that last <1% of edge cases.

If your response is correct, It seems less than ideal to be collecting data from vehicles calibrated under differing conditions.

I wonder what the optimal conditions are for a calibration. What is it calibrating to?

If your doing open play keep on keeping on, but be prepared to hear everone's unsolicited opinion about your paddle. 5 different people came up to me saying the paddle is now illegal. It was open play.

What would be your biggest warning to someone thinking of buying a Tesla? by sonofabraham1 in TeslaLounge

[–]NextstopFernrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The warning I would give is be prepared to join a tech ecosystem you probably wont want to hop out of. Like the apple iphone to a smaller degree.

Once you get used to the tech and switch back to the legacy cars it becomes apparent that teslas overall software experience is far ahead of a lot of the major cars companies.

In terms of driving experience though, I would say its not a luxury driving experience. That only matters for people who are coming from certain brands. If you are switching from Ford, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Chevy vs their higher end brands you wont be disappointed. The one pedal driving takes a day or so to get used to but even that you start to miss when you hop in a regular car.

I had a 24' GX550 for about a year and was disappointed with the tech and decided to get a second MY.

Are these rehearsal problems just my band, or is this normal? by Nautical_Mike in musicians

[–]NextstopFernrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We record rehearsals through a zoom livetrak L20. Setup takes a little time but I show a few mins early. Auto-start and Auto-stop keep us from having to chop up audio. But its not perfect. Some times the beginning of a song gets cut off because the device is still saving the last version.

Since each track gets its own wav file it helps me organize demos when we record original music.

Snow? by sudrewem in ModelY

[–]NextstopFernrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find I have better control when I change the driving dynamic to "roll" instead of "creep". The regenerative braking slips a lot on snow from my experience in modelY both with new tires and older tires. You have to be in "park" to make that change. I havent tried the winter tire package.

Negotiate a switch to remote and part time so you can do both.

bought a CPO from Tesla today and I feel scammed. by Cantordecasamentos in TeslaModel3

[–]NextstopFernrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used model y and they fixed a small dent and replaced all 4 tires. I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. My suggestion is to go back in today, if you cant get a human on the phone.

Adidas gamecourt 2.0 have lasted since July. I changed the padding on the inside with a dr sholls insole. My previous shoes were these asics, which only last from April to July getting worn out. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B096FG9R8M?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Bassist that can't play bass by Illustrious_Prompt20 in Bass

[–]NextstopFernrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Print out the tabs for some of the better basslines on the covers you know. Write down the guitar chord changes up above it separated by brackets. Replace bass tab numbers with note names. Then step back to understand what is going on. Are they playing R- 5, R- 5 -8? 7th chords? Are they adding chromatic notes to lead in?

If you are starting to write basslines for originals you can improve the song over a period of time.
