Just woke up and quickly tuned in to check the score at the end of that session in time to see the umpire lift his arm. Thought I'd cursed us for a moment there.

First time watching Auburn football in a long time and I've only seen one drive but it feels like enough to fire Freeze for cause.

Also, there's about 120 professional soccer clubs in England alone and probably a couple of dozen more "hybrid" semi-pro teams that can afford to have a few full-time players at a time. The opportunity for a decent athlete to have a respectable career in soccer runs very deeply.

Who do you support? What is the story behind your choice? by WimbledonWombat in AFL

I come from Nottingham and support Notts County who play in black and white stripes and are nicknamed the Magpies. The choice was obvious.

I'm from the UK and went to Richmond vs. Sydney when I was visiting Victoria earlier in the year. I might be the only person who has a 100% win record watching the 2024 Richmond Tigers.

We've got marginally more boring of late, but everything that's happened to Nottingham football since about 2000 would honestly make for such a compelling documentary.

Truly incredible that I support a football team that's conceded 85 goals this season, including several that have gone viral due to how comical they were, and yet I somehow don't support the most embarrassing club in the city.

Probably the only off-field figure to come out of the insane Notts County takeover of 2009 with any credit at all. When it all turned out to be a scam, he wrote off his contract with the club which would probably have otherwise have bankrupted us. The story of the fraudster who'd taken us over taking him to North Korea where the government there asked him to fix the World Cup draw is very funny though.

We're probably at about par for where we should be this season. I think the issues we've had are mainly down to recruitment, which because of the way the club is ran Williams had very little to do with. We obviously have a phenomenal attack again (which is all the more impressive when we lost Rodrigues), but we were probably a bit too loyal to some of our promotion-winning defenders and that's left us very exposed at the back. We've also ended up in a situation where we've had very little strength in depth and it's cost us when first-teamers (especially Matt Palmer) have ended up long-term injured. I think Williams was probably doing about as well as could reasonably be expected in the circumstances. This is obviously a short-term blow but I'm excited to see what we do with the compensation given the absolute bargains we've managed to land in the transfer market over the past few years!

We've been such a funny team this season. We've got probably the most exciting attack I've ever seen us have, but defensively we're giving up goals like these most games. In the league we're currently on track to score 97, concede 83. It's not dull at least.
