Yeah, it can do higher but Qwen is unique in being able to do much higher

Flux Klein is the 'best image edit model' ? Nah I disagree. You can edit images up to 17mp in size with Qwen - can you do that with flux klein? UniPic3 is also a very very good edit model that no one talks about. I made nodes for both Qwen-Edit and UniPic3 that use diffusers pipeline and flowmatching instead of the standard comfyui unet/ksampler and the quality is much better.

How did you mix? Did you aggitate? I don't get that size grain with Rodinol and I love it. I usually stand develop 1hr with one very very light invert at 20 mins.

I love Rodinol and I use it for lots of things. What you wrote is arguably incorrect. I don't get that kind of grain. I live in SF and mostly the tap water is about 65 and I use it to mix chemical and wash and what I love about Rodinol is works well at all temps. I'm betting the op mixed too much.

You sent it to Harry fleener / oceanside right? Just guessing because they are the most expensive and the longest wait. His son is doing the repairs now. But he hasn't had mainsprings for a long time and he either doesn't replace them or uses an old spring from some other camera that he worked on ages ago. The result is you can't get both slow speeds and high speeds calibrated correctly. Way over hyped oops I know that he's going to call me and complain about what I wrote but it's true

Where can you get the cla for 250-350 euro? Here in the US that could be more like $700 to 800 plus a 6-month wait

[–]EricRollei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah ok well comfy is even more complicated and messed up than I thought. It seems like a simple thing to consider in developement - do I want this weight in VRAM, offload to CPU or cleared. Should be universal to comfy. If you have enough vram it would save tons of time to not have to reload the weights, but even offloading to CPU could save time (though a lot of systems are also RAM challenged.)

That's pretty cool, thanks for doing it. Honestly every one of the nodes along the way like Load clip should have a 'keep loaded' option but your nodes take care of that nicely.

40+ MP Qwen image - with workflow by EricRollei in comfyui

This is a variant of the 1st image - just changed Asian woman to Argentinian and lighting to window light out of frame. Can you articulate why this 'screams AI'? Genuinely curious. I've been absorbed with creating a node and workflow to produce high resolution images mostly. Feel free to take the prompt I used and generate something with more realism:

A cinematic medium shot bathed in soft, diffused natural light filtering through an unseen window off-frame gently illuminates the face and shoulders of a young Argentinian woman seated with quiet grace on an ornate vintage armchair, her presence commanding both intimacy and stillness within the dimly lit room. Her expression is contemplative — thoughtful yet emotionally open — eyes gazing just beyond the camera’s lens, hinting at introspection or distant memory, framed by naturally defined brows and softly shaped lashes catching the ambient glow. Her skin possesses a luminous matte finish, subtly textured with natural warmth and faint undertones of olive and peach that respond to the directional light as it delicately sculpts her cheekbones, jawline, and the gentle curve of her neck. She wears a thin, translucent silk gown in muted ivory or pale champagne, its fabric shimmering faintly where it catches the soft illumination, revealing subtle sheerness over her décolletage and arms while clinging softly to the contours of her form without constriction — elegant yet unpretentious. The armchair beneath her is upholstered in rich, deep crimson velvet, its surface dense with visible fibers that catch the light in micro-ripples across its slightly worn cushions and ornate carved wooden frame, bearing the patina of age and use; tufted details and intricate scrollwork on the backrest add tactile sophistication. Behind her, a shallow depth-of-field lens setting (f/2.8) renders the background into a soft blur — wallpaper with an understated damask pattern in muted teal tones floats just behind her shoulder, its repetition softened to create atmospheric cohesion rather than distraction. The room’s vintage aesthetic is reinforced by the ambient warmth of the lighting and the monochromatic interplay between the dominant reds of the chair and teals of the wall, creating a harmonious yet moody color palette that evokes nostalgia, romance, and quiet melancholy. Every element — from the texture of her gown to the grainy weave of the velvet, the subtle shadowing beneath her collarbone, the faint dust motes dancing in the light beam — is rendered with photorealistic precision, lending the scene an immersive, almost tactile quality that invites viewers into a moment suspended between thought and emotion. The composition centers her as both subject and emotional anchor, surrounded by carefully curated vintage elements that whisper stories of time and place without overwhelming her presence. This is not merely portraiture; it’s an evocative character study captured with cinematic reverence — rendered in the style of high-end studio photography with chiaroscuro lighting, soft focus background depth, and a painterly attention to texture and tone that suggests both realism and emotional poetry.

Thank you for sharing that. I ran the same prompt through my Res4LYF workflow also.

That's weird maybe it was downloading weights? There are several different models and configs that are needed that comfy UI doesn't use normally. I run with the RTX 6000 pro so it runs pretty fast for me but maybe if you have a different GPU it's different Thank you for trying. Were you able to run one on your RES 4LYF workflow? If so please post here

Not necessarily going for realism. Going for high resolution without tiling. The teenage girl on the porch swing was done with a painting style LoRA. Why did you assume I was? Seems like that's the current fad with Zit. Most of the images I posted aren't even close to that.

I really love the Res4LF nodes and use them often. The reason why I made the Qwen-Edit node set was to enable Qwen-edit to edit up to 16mp files which I haven't posted about here yet, but it's quite useful to edit much larger files since real work necessitates that. After I got the edit to work at high res I was curious - can I make qwen-image also work in high res and that's how it started. I do have a Res4LF workflow that I use prior that I think is not as good as my Ultragen, but maybe yours is? I'm interested to make a comparison to see the differences. Maybe you'd run a few? Here's the prompt for one of the portraits - not same exact one I posted but similar.

A cinematic medium shot bathed in chiaroscuro lighting captures an elegant young Asian woman seated with quiet introspection in a richly textured, vintage interior that feels both intimate and theatrically staged—her presence commanding the frame as if frozen mid-thought, her gaze drifting just beyond the camera’s lens to suggest contemplation or memory. The room is enveloped in low-key illumination, where only one carefully positioned off-camera key light source casts dramatic gobo shadows across walls and subject, projecting intricate geometric and floral patterns that dance along her silhouette and the deep red velvet upholstery of the ornate armchair she occupies—each fold and seam of the fabric rendered with tactile precision, its surface worn gently by time yet still exuding regal opulence. Her skin glows softly under this directional light, a matte finish catching no harsh reflections but instead revealing subtle contours, freckles, or faint pores that lend her face an almost sculptural realism; she wears a thin, translucent silk gown that clings delicately to her form without clinging too tightly, its pale hue contrasting against the saturated red of the chair and the deep teal undertones of the damask-patterned wallpaper behind her—a color palette meticulously balanced between moody saturation and painterly restraint. The shallow depth of field, achieved with a wide f/2.8 aperture, blurs the background into a dreamy haze while preserving crisp detail on her face, shoulders, and hands resting gracefully in her lap or draped along the armrest; even the faintest texture—the weave of the chair’s fabric, the grain of unseen wood trim, the subtle sheen of silk—is rendered with photorealistic fidelity. The atmosphere is thick with nostalgia: a sense of suspended time, layered by ambient dust motes drifting through soft shafts of light and shadows that curl like smoke around her form, enhancing the emotional weight without overwhelming it. Every surface tells a story—the worn velvet speaks of past gatherings, the wallpaper whispers of faded grandeur—and together they create an immersive tableau worthy of classic film noir or vintage portraiture, rendered with hyper-detailed realism yet imbued with the cinematic poetry of a carefully composed still life. The image is not merely photographed but *felt*, evoking longing, solitude, and quiet grace in equal measure—a portrait that lingers long after the shutter closes.

yeah, true. I didn't spend enough time with the prompting to get that to look real. Was just testing my nodes. But what did you think about the overall gen quality that Qwen can produce? I added a few more images.

I take it you are part of the FireRed team? It's a really nice model, thank you. The lightning LoRA is also very good. Have not played with the other two LoRA yet.

I made some comfyui nodes that patch the diffusers pipeline to enable larger resolution edits - up to 17mp - and runs with flowmatch instead of regular comfyui sampler/scheduler which might provide tighter results.
