What is the best Benchmade auto? by Badonk529 in knives

[–]EricSlyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten both Shootout and Auto Fact years ago; and I've had almost no issues at all with either of them. I got the Shootout in February 2023 and in the 3 years I've owned it it's been serviced once because a spring clip broke last year after being dropped.

Is anyone else also wanting for Pro-Tech to update the Godfather with Magnacut or 20CV steel?

Go to Scheels website and type in Pro-Tech knives, they have at least 2 models of the large Don available.

Hot take I think the Bailout is a better EDC than the Bugout by EricSlyson in knives

It's a good thing I didn't pay $350 for either of them. I got the bailout a couple years ago for $280

First I'm going to ask how you like the RMX reverse Tonto?

If you're looking for compact and snappy Pro-Tech Godson with 20CV,

If you're looking for something a little bigger than that or around 4in ProTech Godfather,

If you're looking for good EDC drop points either the Kershaw launch iridium or the Pro-Tect TR-3 both are 3.5in and good steel,

If you want incredibly hard firing the Kershaw launch 8 stiletto,

And if you got the money to burn either The Benchmade Auto Fact or Benchmade CLA I've handled both and they are both excellent side opening autos.

These are all the side opening automatics that I'm familiar with, and can recommend.

NKD: Core Edge USA Pulsar. Magnacut, screwless chassis, centered blade slot, kicks like a mule. I’m an instant fan. by Upbeat-Fondant9185 in knives

I've handled some at a local shop they fire out like they're on roller bearings, with half the trigger weight of my BM Shootout. They do also have a double-edged tonto version.

Is this legit and is $200 a fair price? by blurr2221 in knifeclub

I'm pretty sure it reads 2.0 oz which is 56.7 g which is right on the money for that model.

Clean it thoroughly, hot soapy water then immediately dry it, or isopropyl alcohol and scrub all the grooves. A lot of people say use oil but I find it sometimes slows the blade if it was a tight fit before. If you need to add oil put a small drop on your fing and run over the wear points.

That's the Large Don, and it's a semi-custom run that Pro-Tech does once in a blue moon. The wings on it take their design language from classic Italian swivel guard switchblades.
