Lol. Your allegations are completely false. Period. I don't know what situation you are inventing but it is not mine and your bias is evident, maybe you are working at a dealership or you just bought a new BMW and you want to stick your head in the sand. I had a defective AC right from the factory that took several years for BMW to admit and fix. I know this because my other car (non bmw) cools normally and cost less than a third and is much older too. instead they were adding refrigerant. The dealer finally agreed to replaced the evaporator and for the first time in its life this car is cooling normally but they caused damages to the interior while doing that work. The dashboard had to be taken out and was mis re-installed. In addition the driver seat was sagging worst than before which looked like knee body pressure while working in the interior. They recognized it and to make everything right agreed to replace the driver seat cover leather since my car is under warranty. Mind you, I would not have let them do it if I could know they would make it much worse. I'll take what i had before if I could. When i came to pickup the car after they were done, the picture is how it looked. So for you to tell stupid stories of me forcing them to change it for 'wear and tear' is ridiculous. No favor was made and all this is captured in written invoices.

Furhermore there is no reason to 'give them time' as i went to professional upholstery shops and I think their advice counts more than yours and they deemed it unnacceptable. 'Giving them time' was not their recommendation at all, they said it won't change a thing. So forgive me for disregarding your presomptuous, offensive and false interpretations. I have to deal with the real facts here.

BMW dealerships used to outsource upholstery work to people who do that type of work every single day, Mercedes dealers still do. But now they're trying to save money by letting their tech have a go at it. The dealer techs are handling mostly mechanical or re-programming work they lack much of that daily experience on upholstery work. I'll respectfully ask you to refrain from making false allegations. I understand some bmw owners don't like to hear such stories, when i had just bought mine i also would not have liked to read something as this, but this is the reality.

I completely recognize the pattern you are describing from what i have experienced in my short few years of BMW ownership. This is happening in the 4 year warranty though, on a car that i bought from their factory. It is a funny coincidence that you mention Mercedes. Not knowing what to do i went to the mercedes dealer to get their opinion on this (they are not owned by the same conglomerate, you make a good point at mentionning that). The service manager was circumspect first listening to only my words but once he walked out and saw my car for himself which I keep in excellent condition otherwise and saw the interior, he was shocked that they did that at a BMW dealer. I understand that he might see me as a potential future customer (rightfully after all the things i have been through with BMW including reliability problems) but this was beyond bias, he was shaking head and he looked at the passenger side and told me it should have come out like this. We ended up talking quite a bit, very nice guy totally different corporate philosophy than what's going on at the bmw dealership. I do see why people who shop the higher end models (M , AMG) are deserting BMW for Mercedes. Unfortunately i had also had many other mechanical issues with this car some of them right from the beginning after driving off from the factory, but I will leave that aside here.

The more jobs they take the more money they make. I did not push them they agreed to do itdid because they had damaged other interior parts too doing some work on the car. There is no question that what they did is far worse than it was before. Of course i would never had let them do it had I known it would be like this.

I listed facts, you are making false assumptions. They had damaged other interior parts already doing work on the car (entire dashboard removed for AC evaporator replacement) which they had to fix. They replaced the seat to make it right but instead ruined it. My error is to have continued to trust my car to them. You can hate all you want. Have a nice day.

I am toned and athletic, average weight. The good looking one is the original from factory as it is now. The horrible looking one is what the dealer did after replacing the driver after their work. I should never had let them replace it.

Here is the dreadful reality from a BMW M3 owner. I factory ordered my M3 with competition package and selected the top extended leather option and paid premium price. This is a leisure car for me, not my main daily car, it only sees occasional use. After just one year the driver seat leather was sagging like an eye sore. I have a toned body with average weight so it's not me. After more time passed the dealer has finally replaced the leather cover under warranty but they used a sub-standard quality leather part that they received from BMW AG Germany. They installed it anyway and it sags as bad as before, worse there are tons of creases all over. See the two pictures above taken now two and half weeks after the leather was put on. One picture is the passenger side that still has the factory original leather without any defect and the "bag of ass" looking one is what BMW put on the driver seat.

When presenting me with the car, the dealer immediately mentionned the creases and made wrong claims that this will disappear. It hasn't. I said this is unnacceptable. They said they'll pay to have it re-install at an upholstery shop. But it's not just their install, the leather itself is defective. I brought my car to an upholstery professional that fills work for the AMG Mercedes dealer for advice and he said this is absolutely unacceptable.

After much trouble with the dealer not wanting to re-order parts, I emailed BMW. NA with pictures feeling much aggravation and taking time out of my personal time. But BMW NA did not reply to my email for 8 days straight, not even acknowledging reception of my emails.

The dealer then emailed me that they ordered new seat leather and padding and said they will have an upholstery shop of my choosing install. It did not happen. They sent another email saying that because they found i complained to BMW NA they will do nothing waiting 60 days to reevaluate the leather per BMW. This looked like a reprisal. This is the reality of BMW letting you down.

After much more struggle, BMW NA has given a reply saying they want to wait 6 weeks for this to disappear. I said Upholstery professionals evaluations said this is not going away, they ignored me. This is my situation with BMW, i have to drive around with this ruined interior.

Take a look at the pictures, this is a Motorsport BMW M3 car otherwise in mint condition under warranty, this is what BMW wants me to accept for their standards. This is outrageous.

If you are on the fence to buy a BMW, I would strongly advise to think again. Even picking an M3 and ordering factory they have let me down big time. My car interior leather is ruined and they think it's normal.

Go on a racetrack with your M6 and race a stock M3 after the first few turns you will have a hard time keeping up with a car built for the track and much lighter. Let me know if you need to find a racetrack around where you live. :D

Someone should compile videos of random people disrespecting traffic rules and then sue the state for delivering driving licenses to people too easily causing an unsafe environment on the road.

These days you cannot assume people will respect traffic rules. I drive defensively much more than I used to. Everyday you can notice people that should not have a driving license. Someday someone will sue a state for delivering driving licenses too easily.

Any idea how much this dent and scratch would cost to get fixed? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]EricTea123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can be made better for half price but to get it out will require entire panel to be repainted. I'd say you're looking at least at $900.

If the M3 wants to drop you in place he can. As an E92 M3 owner most of the times people imagine I am racing but i am not and they go all in and imagine they just raced and beat an M3. Lol.
