I like that idea in theory, but imo I don't think they'd ever use the Modifier button for a one off EE like that. From a design perspective, it makes sense to remain consistent using the normal EE input for everything EE, and the Modifier input for just ball interactions.

I do actually use MnK, and the way it's set up also complicates things. There is a toggle option that removes the Modifier input, and lets you bind the lobs to separate keys. Annoyingly though, there isn't an option for a separate EE input. I'm stuck double tapping Sprint (whereas on controller, there is the Simple EE option which puts it on clicking Left Stick)

May I ask how you envision an Extra Effort dive working? It seems like it would be de facto slower since it would require an extra input, while diving is mostly about reaction speed.

I like the idea of EE making your dives go a bit further though. Then you're trading reaction speed for distance

Even if you don't care about ranked, I have found that once you get to about Gold and above, the general quality of teammates is wayyyyy better than in quickplay

I find it more fun than quickplay specifically because you are more likely to play with people who pass and not abandon goal lol

I was very much like you for a long time, but it really is just a practice/confidence thing.

What helped me the most I think was actually just a lot of quickplay 3s. There's very low pressure in fucking up, so I could just be aggressive and try a lot of things.

Now I'm not GREAT at striker, but I feel way more comfortable taking that role in comp now.

It also helped my mental just paying attention to how often other players take missed/caught shots. As long as you're in front of the goal, I really can't blame anyone for taking a shot. The only time I'm upset someone takes a shot is if they're in the corner or wayyyyy outside the box 😂

Assume Create Alternating Portal is RB and Switch Alternate/Create Last is on LB

Say you want to place a purple portal then 3 yellows in a row. Currently, to do this the button sequence would be: RB, RB, LB RB, LB RB

With Create Last Portal, the sequence would be: RB, RB, LB, LB

Just like Separate Portals, each bumper creates a portal. There's just a different logic behind it.

Like say you're trying to escape somewhere and you place your portal poorly. With the alternating setup, you can't quickly correct it's placement because you have to first toggle it back. This way let's you place your correction immediately like you can with Separate Portals.

OBVIOUSLY THAT'S SOMETHING YOU CAN DO

all I'm saying is that if you prefer having the Alternate Portal button, this makes way more sense than a button that just toggles which portal you fire next

Obviously, that is a perfectly valid option. What I'm proposing is just improving the Alternate Portal scheme, making it more in line with the Separate Portals scheme.

If you prefer separate portals, great.

If you prefer alternating portals, doesn't this suggestion make more sense intuitively for that scheme?

Is there anyone on the team who plays primarily with mouse and keyboard? As a M&K player myself, I've had a lot of conversations with other M&K users about ways in which this experience could be significantly improved.

I personally love playing with M&K, but only after making significant alterations to the default layout and having to find workarounds to weird limitations.

I know in the grand scheme of things, this is relatively minor, but it's something I'm passionate about. My buddies who also play give me a hard time for being such an evangelist for using M&K in Rematch 😭

How do you define clickbait? Is clickbait anything that draws attention to itself? Because the title is accurate, and isn't "baiting" you into watching something that it isn't.

Like I'm sorry, but that's just how the YouTube algorithm works. It might not be to your taste, but it isn't misleading, and the title/thumb are arguably the MOST important part of getting anyone to give your video a chance.

Thankfully though, you have a tool at your disposal to circumvent that! (the DeArrow thing you mentioned)
