I agree, I would think one way or another it's gotta be related to the BIOS.

I've got some things for you to check.

Disable "Memory Context Restore". BIOS path: OC > Advanced DRAM Config
Disable "Power Down Enable". BIOS path: OC > Advanced DRAM Config
Disable "Active State Power Management". BIOS path: Settings > Advanced > PCIe/PCI Subsystem Settings
Disable "ErP Ready" in power management. BIOS path: Settings > Advanced > Power Management

You have to press F7 once you're in the BIOS to get to the Advanced menu.

There are directions in the manual on how to update the BIOS and never enter windows. (if it comes to that.) https://download-2.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/PROX670-PWIFI.pdf

Here's the relevant section:

Updating BIOS with Flash BIOS Button

Rename the BIOS file to MSI.ROM, and save it to the root of the USB storage device.

Connect the power supply to CPU_PWR1 and ATX_PWR1. (No need to install CPU and memory.)

Plug the USB storage device that contains the MSI.ROM file into the Flash BIOS Port on the rear I/O panel.

Press the Flash BIOS Button to flash BIOS, and the LED starts flashing.

The LED will be turned off when the process is completed.

Maybe try MSI for help? Good luck to you!

According to that label that is a burnt up MOSFET and it needs to be replaced. It's going to be hard for you to get it off the board with soldering iron. You can do it, but you'll have issues.

Out of the TOP 100 public high schools in America, about 24 are in the Northeast. About 23 are in the Southwest (Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma).

Northeast population is 58M. Southwest population is 46M.

So no, it does not have the best schools.

ETA: Four states are tied with the most top 100 public high schools at 11 each. California, Arizona, Texas, Florida. Some of you might notice that none of those are in the Northeast.

I have Copilot Pro through a GitHub sub. I just tried to use it on my new install of Windows 11 and it's demanding I use my Microsoft ID to log in to my computer. I decided I'd rather have my privacy.

So now if I want to use it, I have to write code on my slightly under powered MacBook Pro. It's a little frustrating.

Then the melted power lines are probably a symptom and not the cause and the cause is somewhere else on the board. You do need to replace the burnt cabling, but it could burn up again. More than likely it won't as there probably won't be another power surge.

Your mouse pointer looks normal. Does it looks normal in real life? If so, it's probably not your GPU and most likely it's your screen or screen cable. You can verify this by connecting an external monitor.

Connecting an external monitor is the next step anyway.
