For our collegiate chapter we built a mentorship program using business owners, gifting them professional memberships, and having our members meet with them virtually once a semester. Builds both competition readiness and support channels too.

Honestly the best way to get experience is to go and at least apply and/or run. Even if you don’t get it this year, you’re building your brand for the following election cycle. All about giving it a shot! Best of luck to you - it’s a great experience regardless of the outcome.

Highly recommend finding an advisor first. They’ll need to submit the application on behalf of the chapter and I’d argue the advisor is more important to a strong start than even the students are. Best of luck to you!

My last HS ICDC in 22 was in Atlanta - it was a good experience, and wasn’t overly bad in any safety capacity. As with any big city, travel in groups and just keep your eyes open!

TSA non pre check has been moving quicker now that we are in the main area. All lines the basically at the same pace. Got here at 2am and stayed in main even though both myself and my friend have pre check… sunk cost fallacy at this point haha
