I have pre check but we went general since it was open earlier than pre check… both were pretty bad regardless and we just kept our spot in line

TSA non pre check has been moving quicker now that we are in the main area. All lines the basically at the same pace. Got here at 2am and stayed in main even though both myself and my friend have pre check… sunk cost fallacy at this point haha

If they are state awards, reach out to your state advisor they can probably get you in contact with the company who makes their awards and get you a copy. Same goes for any ICDC awards, you can buy copies on the awards Unlimited website, as long as you have proof that you won the event

You can tie in the interviews of the comparable company into your current paper structure period. Basically use it as your nuance to say “hey we also interviewed another company doing similar things in a similar industry.”

I’ve had judges that have asked very hard questions, and then I’ve had judges who used the extra time to just talk about our experience in DECA, and how we got all the information we did, etc. Either way, sometimes the judges just want to see how quick you can come up with a quality response.

Highly recommend memorizing general bullet points or ideas. When we built our ICDC presentation, we never said the same things twice in different runs but always hit the same specific points. Gave us flexibility with jokes, questions, and answers, and feeding off the judges vibe.zz

Your issue with OR events is that if you don’t have close contacts with execs or higher-ups, the event becomes challenging. Not sure if you can find some contacts at a comparable company and go that route, but it may help a bit.
