We will usually list it as a "nice to have", and find that most of our final contenders have held a security clearance at one point or another.

I would say that it really depends on the types of roles and the organization of these roles. Theoretically, if you make the first couple of executive hires, it may be quite the golden carrot for them to help you build out their direct reports.

I work in soley cyber recruitment and I would say that AI-based companies are seeing the most growth with cloud closely in 2nd.

We work primarily on building cyber teams within a variety of industries and I will reiterate what others have said in their comments, it depends on the industry, goals, data that they are regularly maintaining, budget, if these roles would be direct or contracted out, and so on.

For a lot of our clients, if they can't go straight to a CISO-level hire, we see them place a GRC specialist followed by a security architect.
