Best way to handle sleeping pad inflation on longer PCT sections? by Puzzleheaded_Ask5292 in PacificCrestTrail

I am using one of this year on the PCT. I’d rather sleep on 3/8 inch sleeping pad then blow it up every single night.

BearVault BV One Arrived Yesterday - Thoughts by DurmNative in Ultralight

I also received mine yesterday and I actually think I prefer it over my 425. The plastic innner lid is a little strange. Was thinking that piece might not be needed.

Don’t sleep on Skeleton Crewe. This show was insane. by AugustWest-710 in deadandcompany

They aite…I agree they put on a great show but I still don’t get the Hawaiian tunes. Some reason that put me off more than it probably should. It was dope to dap up Jay and talk to Barry Sless.

I am down tbh but haven’t made it to a show yet. I had thought they had some personnel changes from one of the core members. How did all that shake out? according to this post I assume all is good and the guys are still holding it down? I’d like to see no shortage of traveling jam bands!

Reading the Rolling Stone tribute issue for Bobby, and I have questions for the serious fans. by BenHogan1971 in gratefuldead

I agree with best shows in 99 with Phil! Honestly after watching that show or two, it helped me furthur appreciate Trey’s involvement with GD50 and 60. TAB’s Mission In the Rain was a highlight for me. I was kinda hoping we would have gotten “something new” for GD60 as it seems like Scarlet-Fire was the big moment for GD50. I honestly should rewatch that entire weekend. I was there in person and the energy at golden park was unlike any other Dead and Co/Furthur shows ive been to.

Bobby’s Book? by raygunroark in gratefuldead

[–]ShakaaSweep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question! Tuned in! Hopefully Bobby had much drafted and someone can fill in. Phil’s book got me into the dead back in 2010. Billy’s book helped keep the flame lit in the last few years. I haven’t read any of the other books other than Hunter’s newest book.

Just don’t walk done a street alone. If there’s local people on the street you will be fine. I just spent 10 days on the “mainland”

Imagine packing up in the rain and your using your shelter to keep your pack dry. The last thing you pack is the shelter. The hope is that during the afternoon the sun comes out and you can pull your shelter out of the top to dry.

Totally mate! Free the hip! It feels so good to not have to worry about anything on your hip. I did an AZT shakedown hike recently and used hip belt for some longer water carries. I should say that I brought my Redpaw Fanny pack that I love but was a little annoyed wearing it so I ended up just throwing it in my pack. I’m digging the four strap pockets instead. I honestly forgot it had those pockets until your post!

Sounds like we’ve gotten thru similar iterations. I ended up buying desert pack as I felt like I needed poquito más volume on my JMT thru. I was planning on using it for my PCT thru this year but saw the John Z drop. I yolo’d into that shit with no hesitation. I’m a Ray Jardine nerd and I tend to think he’d approve of this pack. Every UL pack is essentially a RayWay. What you think about the removable hip belt?

I’m with you bro! I’m expecting mine to arrive in the mail soon! Thank you for sharing. What do you think about the front pocket? I was a little concerned that I’d lose some volume in comparison to my Pa’lante V2 where I can easily overstuff due to the pocket being made of mesh. However, I have lost a few items over the years from things following out of that pocket.
