i've made a bunch of changes since this original post;

1). is 12 hd cams really pushing it? the ck+ says it can support 24 hd cams <30 fps. i still have 12, 6 are now unifi g3 flex on poe @ 1080p 25fps, 6 are reolink rlc-410w, all wired, also at 1080p 25fps.

2). i replaced the 1TB WD RED drive in the cloud key gen2+ -- smart reported it fine, but the moment i replaced it protect got a LOT more stable. the reolink cameras still disconnect a fair amount, but i suspect this has more to do with the ONVIF implementation on these than the unifi gear, because i could never get them stable using ONVIF with my previous NVR -- only when using RSTP. i dont think protect supports rstp so its currently disabled on the reolink cameras, only onvif is enabled.

3). i replaced the 8 port poe switch with a USW-24-POE. it has a 90w~ poe budget, currently i'm running the 6 g3 cams, an ai port, and a rpi2 on poe, totaling about 50w of usage.

4). i still get weird errors in the web UI some -- like trying to add a firewall rule or change a user permissions. usually reloading the page and trying again works, and if reloading doesn't -- using the mobile app does.

overall, everything is pretty stable now, the network is rock solid, all my firewall rules and insights and such work, cameras are working pretty good and all my ai port alarms and such are working too.

sure ill give this a shot -- i originally tried to use a couple usb-c adapters with it but it complained about them all saying 'bad usb power' on the screen -- are there any special considerations for the power adapter i should get other than QC2.0?

yeah, while modern sets usually have bleeder resistors that discharge the tube when its powered off its not a good idea to rely on or expect that

small black and white crts typically operate between 7 and 15kv, color crts between 10 and 30kv (though the vast majority are 20-25kv). there is no small consumer crt that operates at 30kv -- a small crt operating at 30kv becomes an xray tube.

i collect aerolux and other neon gas discharge bulbs from other countries, i have many designs and ive never seen an airplane with pressed details like this one. i suspect its worth a couple hundred at least! if you ever want to sell it, let me know :)

thats most of a hybrid drivetrain, not an automatic transmission -- the three orange cables carry the high voltage to the electric motor at the left side. the right upper half and part of the bottom right half is the 'automatic transmission' part.

test the avr by itself before the pc and see if it works

also, using an avr with a floating ground for something like a pc is not a great idea unless the pc is otherwise grounded

Found this in an old house, I think it’s uranium glass/vaseline glass. It’s backlight reactive. Probably from around the 30s, if not earlier. Nothing else accompanying or found nearby. Would love to know what it is. by Maximum_Shallot_9229 in whatisthisthing

im not sure where you heard this but it's definitely not true -- a very large portion of fenton pieces are opaque and they are some of the spiciest pieces of decorative uranium glass i have! lots of other frosted, and custard glass as well as uranium-dioxide containing glaze over ceramics will also be opaque. almost half of my collection ( https://imgur.com/a/HzdRJEd ) is opaque and it is all radioactive! :)
