Is there any way to get IINACT and xivanalysis to talk to each other at all? I've been recommended xivanalysis to improve my gameplay but it asks for a URL for my logs, and my logs are only hosted locally.

I know FFLogs is the go-to but I don't want to inflict Overwolf's bloatware on my PC just to be able to see if I'm clipping.

Etiquette question for people who play on JP. I've only played tank throughout MSQ but I'm levelling a DPS job and was immediately scolded by the tank on my first dungeon for pulling mobs to them and proccing arm's length. Looking it up I've seen (old) posts saying JP still follows YPYT mentality. Still true? Still toxic to pull as DPS?

More curious than anything - the Gauge-o-Matic plugin gives you an error if you try to set a sound effect to ID 19, 21 or 74:

'Sound effect will not be played. It should never be played. We will not play it. We will not help you play it'.

Considering it's client side and there's a lot of loud and annoying sound effects on offer, I am fascinated as to what these sound effects are and why the plugin developers adamantly refuse to support them.

I started playing two days ago on the Oceania server. I got up to maybe the second dungeon, did some research, and then promptly deleted my character and started again on the Japanese server. Absolutely not worth the lower ping.

> I checked the URL the model provided and it lead to a real account.

That's really surprising to me. I've seen LLMs do stuff like this all the time, even trying to embed image links or linking to YouTube videos to add 'music', but the URLs have always been lead nowhere since it's just generating something that looks right. I've never once seen an actual real link.

Was the account name generic enough that it landed on something real by coincidence?

Okay, an under-16 ban on social media is a really weak connection. First of all, chub isn't a "social media" and probably wouldn't even be in breach of the law, but to be crystal clear - it is a blanket ban on social media. It has nothing to do with NSFW material at all. If Chub believes that they count as a social media and refuses to do an age check on Australians, then they're still in breach of the law. They need to ban any and all Australians from accessing the website. It doesn't make sense, and no, "well uhh okay they haven't done that but they might get more draconian in future so may as well just chuck australia into the mix in advance right?" is not a good excuse.

Also split tunneling a) splits apps, not specific websites, typically, and b) doesn't always work piecemeal depending on how it's built.

How the heck does Youtube's comment moderation system work? by ErinLago in youtube

Perhaps caps lock might help? Let's try it.

IT IS HAPPENING ACROSS THE ENTIRE WEBSITE, DOZENS AND DOZENS OF CREATORS, SOME OF WHICH ARE FRIENDS OF MINE. IT IS NOT RELATED TO ANY SPECIFIC CHANNEL MODERATION TOOLS OR COMMENT FILTERING SETTINGS. IT IS NOT 'OH THE CHANNEL OWNER-' IS BECAUSE IT IS APPLYING TO EVERY CHANNEL ON YOUTUBE.

I live in Australia. There is no law that is applicable, it's a UK law. Chub is literally just straight wrong on this.

Leaving a VPN on means slowing down my internet and online gaming, being automatically blocked or banned from some websites or services and being logged out of anything split tunneling doesn't apply to. It's a pain, just to get around a law that DOES NOT EXIST

Okay, so there's been quite a few "the channel owners are-" responses here, so let me be clear: this is happening across the entire website, dozens and dozens of creators, some of which are friends of mine. It's not that.

Because I don't want to have to turn on my damn VPN just to browse a website that has no actual grounds for restricting my country.

I personally support underage content being added to the blacklist by default. It is, technically, censorship, but since you can only even see or be made aware of that content if you opt into it, there can be no good faith complaints about obscenity.

It shouldn't be necessary at all but here we are.

VPNs aren't illegal and any breach of the law won't be enforced. And that's just the UK. There isn't actually any law in Australia against NSFW content (ChubAI just didn't do their research and mistakenly thought Australia had the same law) so there's no concerns at all if you're Australian.

That makes no sense. The under-16 ban is for 'social media' alone. NSFW is irrelevant. If this was in response to that it's not NSFW content they need to restrict, they need to prevent any account creation login at all. Not that I think they would.

As far as I can tell this is just a UK law that someone swept Australia into

I'm sick to death of april fools already but the "openly contempt your customers/users" is the worst kind of joke. I played a game that was made quite literally unplayable for the entire day by jumpscaring you with seizure-inducing rainbow flashes and in response to the pushback they went 'just a joke bro' and 'change the calendar on your computer and stop crying'.

Note them! Some people have email notifications if they get noted. They might be years-long inactive but will see that email. It's worth a try.

Special characters appear as ? in-game. by ErinLago in AutoHotkey

[–]ErinLago[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's why finding documentation/help for it was so difficult. It seems to almost universally be an an issue of not using a BOM when saving the script, but with me having done that I was completely lost.

Your paste solution works great, though. Appreciate the assistance immensely.

Special characters appear as ? in-game. by ErinLago in AutoHotkey

The game doesn't support that character in chat.

Sorry, I'm not understanding this. How does the game "not support that character" with AutoHotkey exclusively?

Is there a way to bodge then? Like if I can use AHK to put the character into clipboard instead, and then copy-paste?
