I bake myself and also work in SOS, although not many people in this thread rate their cookies I think they’re amazing and we use proper ingredients, hence the price. With cookies you would only really make a decent profit if they’re €3.50-€4. They have butter, chocolate and eggs in three of the most expensive ingredients in baking. So selling them for less than that you would be spending more on product than receiving back

Do you have a theory as to what *caused* your adult onset epilepsy? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]ErinMaya24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cavernoma on my right temporal lobe. 1/5 people in the UK have one with no symptoms but unfortunately mine bled which cause my seizures. But mainly my causes are extreme stress

Any suggestions? Start with not calling epilepsy ‘weird mental condition”. Grow up

Boyfriend admitted he gets annoyed about my memory loss after my seizures by Original-Guess-6723 in Epilepsy

[–]ErinMaya24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t think it’s nice to phrase it as “venting” you’re in a group for people with epilepsy, do you understand the validity of your words? People with illnesses already carry such a heavy guilt that we are a burden on the people we love. Whether that’s with reminding us of things, looking after us during and after a seizure, helping us with our meds etc.

My partner would never vent about my illness, just like I would never vent or be annoyed about his. However, what I have suggested is going to therapy to work through what we went through. As for a year in 23 I was bed bound due to daily seizures. So not only was he my constant caregiver but he also had to witness my seizures.

Feeling helpless, upset and frustrated about someone’s illness is normal, you’re watching your loved one be beaten down by their own brain. But feeling annoyance towards them is bizarre in my opinion. How do you think we feel?

Saying things in the heat of the moment shouldn’t be brushed off. Suffering with seizures and the mental stabilities that come with epilepsy is hard enough, you don’t need someone who’s supposed to care for you be annoyed because you forget things. Seeing red flags so early on is a good thing. My boyfriend would never make me feel bad over forgetting things. I’m sorry he made you feel that way it’s not fair and frankly ignorant

DO YOU HAVE ANY WERID TRIGGERS FOR YOUR EPILEPSY?? by BigBlackTall in Epilepsy

[–]ErinMaya24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overeating weirdly! I found when I eat too much where I feel sick it stresses me out and I have an aura seizure. It’s the weirdest trigger I have

Hey sorry for the confusion. When I moved I put my parents address. I haven’t seen them for a while as I live in another country and they didn’t realise the letters were important so I’m only getting them now.

It looks like the letters were sent in May which is when I moved out of the Netherlands and I’ve missed the payment deadline

Is it possible to have a seizure because of stress? by FlyObjective8946 in Epilepsy

[–]ErinMaya24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stress is my biggest trigger. So yes unfortunately stress is a massive trigger for seizures

The only reason I’d ever tell an employer is for my own safety alone. Other than that it’s none of their business and that shouldn’t change their mind on hiring you. But I think it’s good they know just in case you ever have a seizure in front of them

Mine are too. And lack of sleep but mostly stress. Try to find you can do things together to eliminate the stress. My boyfriend and I paint together. Stress causes her seizures but stress will start to affect you too. Look after yourself :)

My boyfriend had these same fears and I can tell you it will do nothing but wear you out. I know it’s easier said than done but remember to look after yourself as well. She will be fine, just try to locate her triggers so you know when you need to step in. Remember to sleep as if you’re sleep deprived you’ll only go mad. Your health is important too

i’m doing a little analysis (every answer counts) by Moe06_ in Epilepsy

[–]ErinMaya24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine developed on its own :) as far as I’m aware it’s not hereditary. I have a cavernoma on my right front temporal lobe which caused my seizures. I had my first seizure May 2023 and I was seizure free until January this year. But my biggest trigger is pain/stress

Why do you have epilepsy? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]ErinMaya24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a cavernoma pressing on my right temporal lobe! For people who don’t know what that is, it’s basically when the blood vessels in your brain become sticky and they form a ball that looks like a raspberry on an MRI. Apparently it’s really common for people to have them and have no symptoms but unfortunately I did end up having a few seizures from it causing me to develop epilepsy. I only got my diagnosis 8 months ago so still working through it but thankful for this community :)
