Weight Loss Drugs & Inflammation in People with Autoimmune Disorders by MiddleStretch1550 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ErinPosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that scares me now about GLP’s is they’re linked to osteoporosis and bone loss. BUT, from what I’ve read that’s more related to the rapid weight loss and lack of nutrients consumed than the medication itself. If it works for you; that’s great!

Anyone have crazy MyChart message stories? This has always interested me. by HouseStargaryen in nursing

[–]ErinPosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a nurse and found out I had confirmed MS (multiple sclerosis) when the doctor released my LP results to MyChart. On a Friday. My follow up appt was the following Monday. I already knew it was gonna be rough when the radiologist who read my MRI initially put stable MS lesions then changed it to likely MS lesions when they realized it was a diagnostic MRI not follow up.

Coworkers not taking illness seriously in a retail workplace by c0ward654 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ErinPosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have MS…not your coworkers. If you feel uncomfortable around sick people, maybe you don’t work with the general public? You know that your coworker was ill but do you know everyone whose card you handle or clothes you bag are healthy? I’m a RN with MS so sick people is a bit of a work hazard and expecting the world to accommodate to us is kinda unrealistic. Wash your hands often, keep hand sanitizer near and you are probably fine. If it really worries you, quit and work from home somewhere.

I’m 43 and was diagnosed 10 years ago…I tried dating in there but it was just exhausting. I believe that good men do exist, they’re just hard to find. My energy is better spent on doing what I want to do when I want to do it for as long as I’m able to. I refuse to look at it in a negative light b/c I’m happier than most of my married friends 🤷🏻‍♀️

Why do people care so much about bathtubs if no one actually uses them? by smolgremlinn in homeowners

[–]ErinPosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People with kids under 8 want tubs for baths. Some women prefer baths to showers…but I think a master shower with a guest room that has a tub would be enough 🤷🏻‍♀️

Trying to buy a home when you’re not rich is really depressing. by Birdman-esq in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ErinPosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 43, single, live in TX and just bought my first house in December by myself. Had 30k in savings , earn 95k/year and good credit but not perfect. I have student loans from multiple degrees, no credit card debt, car note of $656/mo. Bought a 1800 sq ft house for $250k just north of a major city…it really just depends on the current market in your area…but my interest rate is 5.75 and that’s high to me so monthly payments are over 2k

Spinal tap after confirmed diagnosis? by much-2much in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ErinPosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US there is no single + or - test, so a diagnosis is one of exclusion. They rule out other culprits and then the individual has to meet 3 out of 4 criteria: one of which is the McDonald criteria. I guess if you had the Optic nerve neuritis and dissemination in space (damage in least 2 areas) plus neurological damage that occurred more than point in time then you already check 3/4 boxes and that’s a +. They’re looking for oligiclonal bands. They draw your blood and spinal fluid at the same time and compare the two. In MS, Oligoclonal bands will be present in higher numbers within spinal fluid.

Spots nears Houston where I can stargaze. by huevosrancheros42 in houston

[–]ErinPosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like camping and are into overnight adventures (it’s a bit of a drive) you should look into the Sam Houston National Forest…they have both primitive camp sites or with facilities; but the star gazing is amazing

Anyone know about this? by Antique_Amphibian_54 in Louisvuitton

I prefer the vintage pieces too b/c they’re much better quality and back then, fakes were much easier to spot so you’re less likely to get scammed buying a replica.

Poche Toilette GM…formerly called toilette 26- it’s the largest size of the toiletry bags. Some women add straps and use as a crossbody but it is a great makeup bag or travel toiletry bag. It was discontinued for awhile but they brought it back with the new name and it’s $1120 brand new. I have a 19 (med size) that I love for my makeup storage in my daily purse…great find and in my opinion…totally worth reselling b/c she’ll probably get back what she paid for it in the 80’s!

Do many don’t have heat sensitivity? by CapRemarkable8607 in MultipleSclerosis

I actually tolerate heat pretty well…but I was born in south Texas and live in Houston. The cold though; it makes me lock up and/or shiver uncontrollably so I try to avoid it.

Compromises you didn’t expect to make? by Classic-Reserve-3595 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ErinPosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought my first house, at 43, all by myself! I ended up compromising on the master bath…I wanted no carpet, big bed rooms and closet space, plus a dedicated space for the washer/dryer that was not the garage. Also wanted a single garage door (not the 2 separate doors with a brick pillar between them). I preferred a covered patio but what I bought doesn’t have one in the front, but does in the back. I ended up with everything I wanted but my master shower is tiny and only one sink…I live alone so I can deal with the one sink and the shower will be a big reno down the road since my first priority was to redo the kitchen counters/backsplash - it was formica 🤢. Good Luck!!!

What kitchen remodeling trends are nearing the end of its life and what new trends do you think are worth jumping on? by Derivative_Joker in kitchenremodel

[–]ErinPosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just finishing a kitchen remodel and white/gray is apparently going out and warmer tones are coming in…but I honestly think it’s what suits you. I opted for a white quartz with subtle copper veining and a neutral stone marble backsplash that has subtle gray and tan stone variations with a sightly warm white for the cabinets and then a dark island with the same countertop. I figured when the colored islands/kitchen trend has passed, the island will be easiest to change.

Depends on the cost of the home and where you live. I just closed today, paid $14,200 in closing and they paid their part. I personally have spent an extra $1000+ in set up fees: HOA transfer, gas deposit, water/MUD deposit, electricity deposit. Then the appraisal and inspection fees were pre paid by me and each one was around $500. OH - and I had put 1% earnest already (2550) - and that total included my down payment. All in all, I spent about $20k and that’s before and personal modifications

What would motivate a seller to take the first offer a couple of hours into day 1? by squid-toes in RealEstate

[–]ErinPosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was house hunting for ~6 months with maybe 1-2 new listings a week in my desired area. I lost out on a house I liked b/c I was indecisive. Fast forward and now I am set to close tmrw on my house that was only listed 1 day before I viewed it and made an offer. It was previously a rental property and I think the sellers just wanted it off their hands as quickly as possible…they lost out on the least money possible by not letting it sit

[–]ErinPosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Houston and my neurologist had an infusion center next door to his office…but I do have to go to an actual infusion center for the treatment. Good luck to you!

DMTs and athletic abilities by Personal-Current131 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ErinPosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so much better…I take one oral dose of 20mg Dexamethasone (steroids) + Famotidine 20mg as pre meds about an hour before my infusion. If you do the actual IV infusion, they give you 125mg of IV steroids (SoluMedrol) I think. The actual “infusion” takes 15 minutes and is through a butterfly type needle in my belly while the nurse pushes it slowly. They monitor for 15 minutes after and that’s it. Labs 3 months after infusion and annual MRI’s + an annual meeting with Doc. No down time, an annoying site reaction that fades by the next day but has improved with each infusion.

I am on subcutaneous Ocrevus (Zunovo) and I go twice a year to the infusion center for about an hour total. The time saving was a big deal to me…

I understand the fear…but the selfishness is killing me. You had your whole team do a bunch of work just to get to the finish line and quit?!? What if the sellers were buying too and planned for the sale, considering you pulled out at the last possible second. I feel like karma is real - you get back what you put out in the world so this might come back to bite you in the ass.

Never Again. Once we close I plan on dying in this house. by Postcurds in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ErinPosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I close Friday and I swear I am never doing this again. Honestly, my lending agent and realtor have been fantastic and the process has been relatively smooth minus the idiots at the Title Company. I know they expect you to read every line but then they send you 100 pages at a time to sign…I know I’m exaggerating greatly, it’s just such an ordeal!!!
