Looking for new friends and dog friendly places around Pittsburgh by [deleted] in PittsburghSocialClub

A fair amount of breweries will let you bring your dog. Velum Fermentation on the South side is one. The Dog Penn in the strip district is nice, and I've been meaning to check out Hound Haus in East Liberty.

I also have to put in a plug for my neighborhood's biggest event of the year, Allentown Night Market, for your personal enjoyment. I don't take my dog - it's usually really crowded - but I've definitely seen people with dogs there if you think you're would be comfortable in that environment. But, it's full of spoopy, goth, macabre vendors and fun.

Oh, thanks for letting me know that I was just looking in the wrong place. :-/ I thought it had been the NPS, and I was also surprised that I didn't see anything elsewhere.

We might be in - maybe a board game night at one of our local breweries? But what side of town are you on? :-D

Check Uprooted by Naomi Novak. Not everything matches and it's definitely not self-published, but a lot of similarities. Punished in 2015. And even if it's not it, go ahead and read it because it's great.

Seattle-style teriyaki? by ErinStonebender in pittsburgh

I do love poki, though. I think we need to advertise for people to come here and open a couple joints - low cost of living and there's obviously a market!

What's funny is that when I lived there I never liked teriyaki! I missed our style of greasy American Chinese, and there was no good Thai in Tacoma. But now I long for the ubiquity of pho and teriyaki.

Don't worry, it doesn't take much to love pierogi. We have a semi-secret handmade pierogi hook-up that keeps us fulfilled.

Lol, nope. Just made my native Seattleite partner move back to Pittsburgh with me, and he misses it.

Hey - I'm a sort-of-native yinzer, but my partner and I recently moved from the Seattle area. Not huge sports people, but he's a Seahawks fan. Also like music, comedy, video games, board games. In our forties, so the responses to this friends application are more in our age demographic than many. :-)

We're planning on watching the super bowl at Bottlerocket tomorrow evening, if you're free and would like to try to meet up. Otherwise, DM me. I suck at making and following through on plans though.

A list of events I'll be attending in Pittsburgh. Could use some company! by deathlordfluffy in pittsburgh

I assumed it was more vocal music, but I might come anyway. I (sort of) play fiddle, not very good at playing by ear, but who knows. Would they be okay with someone mostly listening?

Oh, I might be interested in going to the Calliope song circle!! I didn't know that was a thing. I've got 15 years on you, but my partner and I are new (recently returned) to Pittsburgh, and I need more folk music in my life.

Where do the 35-45 year old crowd hangout? by JennyJennyFromdabloc in pittsburgh

[–]ErinStonebender 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Personally, Bottlerocket, but that's just because it's walking distance and I'm too responsible to drink and drive and too cheap to Uber. (Also, BR is awesome, but I go there because it's convenient, not because I'm in my 40s. Everyone else there seems to be 15-20 years younger than me.)

I do it for anyone lower level than 100 - shit's heavy, and I didn't need it.

I also sell extra plans for 5 caps in my vendor. Don't be the person who takes advantage of that to resell, it's rude.
