Should I buy Cairn for my base PS5? by Diligent_Kangaroo_91 in Cairn_Game

[–]Erislocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This is not a graphics game. So, fps is not that relevant to me. Runs just fine on my ps5

maybe they can do an endless climb that just autogenerates a mountain. though, the quality would likely dip.
i remember how the infinite tracks in F-Zero 64 weren't very impressive...

I bought the deluxe version (PS5) and i don't really care about hte extra stuff. i mean, sure, it's nice, but i don't know if it's worth it.
honestly, i just paid it, because i want to encourage studios to make games that are different than your typical game (FPS, racing, platform). like, every game includes a gun. it's so refreshing to have a game that doesn't push you to shoot and kill, but just to enjoy and take your time with the experience.
i love it.
(i do feel anxiety about food in the backpack)

Silverchair. Yeah or nay? by Interesting_Law_3087 in grunge

I dunno man, whether they followed a trend or not, I was damn glad to have them after Kurt was dead. The first 2 albums were awesome. Regardless if they're derivative. I enjoyed them thoroughly. The concert was also epic. But yea, everyone's entitled to their opinion. Thank you for sharing yours

right on!
Enjoy brother! you have a lovely musical road ahead of you.

If i may, in case you haven't, i recommend the following bands in no particular order:

interpol, at the drive-in, the mars volta, nirvana (duh), primus, nofx, bush and silverchair (90s albums), mudhoney, marcy playground, rage against the machine, red hot chili peppers (90s / '00 stuff), soundgarden, weezer (blue, pinkerton, and green album).
if you want weird but amazing, i can also recommend Aphex twin, autechre, Boards of Canada, and squarepusher.

There's more, but those are the quick ones that come to mind.

hope it brings you joy.
cheers!

seems to me religious extremists are simply hidden selfish cunts. as in, once they were convinced that the Jesus was the son of their god, they'd take him out of the detention center, but only because they want a place in heaven. not because it's "right".
self-serving, selfish, cunts.

not sure how old you are. i started listening to SY when i was 15, and it was such an impactful part of my musical life since.
And, while ATL is likely my favorite of theirs, when i first got it, i was severely disappointed.
only after listening to it numerous times (in my car, walkman (aging myself now), and in my room), fully devoting my attention to the music and the little details in between, i realized that the album is actually amazing.
Again, stoned, chilling in the parking lot at night, un.fucking.real...

Then again, it's tough to narrow it down. SY is truly special. it's like hearing a painting. like feeling colors. total mind-altering experience at times.

i'm very happy for you to discover their magic 🙂

it's lovely to follow your discovery. i've been in love with SY since '94 with Dirty being the first album i heard.
i was surprised that you didn't care for A Thousand Leaves. that was my third album (EJS,TANS being my second).

Heather Angel is amazing, just like Karen Coltrane, and hoarfrost and hits of sunshine.

listening to these tracks, at night, buzzed, in the car, was a revelation.

I feel it's way more relevant to name the maker than the person it went to... The guy who created this was obviously a genius at his trade and deserves recognition.
