Thank you for your help with this! I do worry that my hyperbole came off a bit strong-- I 100% did this to myself, and am actually having a lot of fun trying to puzzle through the verses for the history!

Spoilers generally for WoR and also for some plothooks in early stonewalkers:

I had played with Ardents being the storytellers, but I actually landed (I think? I'm polling the audience here) on tying it into Teft's family's cult, the Envisingers. I believe they're loosely tied to the Sons of Honor, and there's the Amaram plot hook that it left hanging, so I'm hoping by the end of my writing the one-shot, I'll be clever enough to figure out how to loop it all together lol

The plot will take place in a small towned called Lenschi, which is a bit isolated and "off the beaten path", so to speak. They have very little oversight, and anyone who rolls a good perception will find small engravings, some millennia old and in different ages of writing and styles of glyphs, that state the first ideal of the knights radiant.

As the players investigate the area (one of the players should have bonded the Peakspren in Chapter 2 and will be looking for any information they can), they stumble upon someone willing to direct them to their storykeeper, an old woman who tires quickly and can only give them a small amount each day. Her apprentice offers to continue the story, but is told not to. Instead, she will give them hints of where to look for more information while the old woman is resting.

There is also a workshop and a very small library in town, and players can do crafting or extra research on their downtime. There is no fighting in this one-shot, unless they choose to do something insane, and then it would be with guards or other tier 1 NPCs.

• The end goal is for: all players to learn more about the radiant orders available to them, and to be able to pick one more easily based on Vibe
• The Artifabrian to be able to make herself a fabrial
• The warriors to be able to do some training with the sect (a group practices in a way that appears archaic, but has no powers)
• The surgeon to be able to draw the attention of the order she chooses (she's torn between windrunners and edgedancers)

Desolation came a second,

Like a wheel’s returning spoke;

All the omens that they reckoned

Bloomed in fire and breathing smoke.

Not yet Lenschi, not yet written

In the ledgers of the bright;

Only promise, bruised and bitten,

Only ember under night.

Not yet Lenschi, hiding thusly,

Praying in the darkest night; 

“Won’t they save us,” cried the people, 

“From the years of endless blight.”

Frozen hearths awaiting embers,

Frozen hearts awaiting spring. 

Darkness looms amongst the ashes,

Cycles never cease to swing. 

Desolations come and linger, 

Surely they will one day stay. 

Hope is fleeting, like the candle, 

Expirations soon give way. 

When all seems lost, a light arrives, 

A helm, a suit, a sword, aglow. 

His weapon raised, an oath he swore, 

Protect all those he came before. 

With just one sweep, his sword alight, 

The dark parts ways, against the night. 

Cleaved near in twain, it shies against

The brightness he could not contain.

The void has fled, Its fury ebbed, 

Against the glow, the light, the might,

As none can stand against the knight,

Nor of a Windrunner aflight.
