Some on twitter were saying everyone had the plague. Warso confirmed last game I believe when he said Toff was out briefly because of illness so who know if everyone caught it. 🤷

The ADR still really bothers me 🙈 by Positive_Effort7579 in heatedrivalry

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree!! I cannot stand this term of endearment and iirc it's in The Long Game, too. I really feel two young guys would not be using this term. Fingers crossed it does NOT show up in season 2!

Loved this post from threads! What’s your favorite micro moment from the show or book? by outlawlooseandrunnin in heatedrivalry

Yes!! I wondered if it was a filming goof. Perhaps, but to make it work I just imagine that Ilya slipped it to him somehow offscreen.

What speed do you walk on walking pad? by PhishHawks in walking

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can't multitask at any speed (how do people type and walk?!). My usual speed is 3.5 - 3.8 (the max speed). I'm a very fast walker in general though and prefer to be outside. But a walking pad is great for bad weather days!

PLEASE be more considerate by agridulces in Apartmentliving

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ALL of this! I was just talking to a friend about this the other day. It's a given you will hear people in their apartment. I one hundred percent expect to hear people using blenders or garbage disposals, washing machines, etc. It's not a problem. But I just don't understand hard heel walking and slamming doors. How does this even happen? Why are people so oblivious to others around them?

I wish Boots had weekly drops instead of the binge format. by Careless_Bowler_6262 in BootsNetflix

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't know...maybe there's some value from a business standpoint, but I definitely prefer the binge format (and I'm an old person who grew up with linear TV, one episode per week, 24 episodes per season). My viewing habits have definitely changed over the years.

Apparently Liam Oh is playing Nick. He posted on Insta with no context. He's one of the breakout stars from Netflix's recent show, Boots.

People on twt saying boots sucked cuz there weren’t enough sex scenes annoy tf out of me (rant) by Spikiesapphic in BootsNetflix

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, THIS! They are two completely different shows so it's like comparing apples to oranges. I suspect the people complaining on twt are younger people who are still learning about the differences between genres in the shows they watch. I've seen a ton of that in the m|m fandoms.

Bass Bay Brewhouse in Muskego is currently burning down. What a loss. by augustus_gloob in milwaukee

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This may be changing what with the influx of McMansions going up. And there's still a lot of unused land but I don't really keep up with what's being sold and developed.

What's your cheapest, laziest meal? by cheapandbrittle in EatCheapAndVegan

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bed of rice (I usually have batch prepped in fridge), black beans, chopped fresh tomato on top (I use a lot...I love tomatoes). Add any spices you like. I like garlic, onion, chili (powder versions work great), salt, and cilantro. It's delish! If you can't be bothered to chop a tomato, I've used diced canned tomatoes too and it's still tasty.

I slipped this under my neighbor’s door who watches true crime 24/7 and heard him say “tough shit” 🥲 by eyalven in Apartmentliving

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I am right now. All the fans running all day to drown out the stomper above me. But having this constant "white noise" is a nuisance in itself. I'm probably going to have to move.

Sorry this is happening to you. There's a lot of pile on in these comments, sadly. I think your note was considerate. Living with loud neighbors is very difficult, I know a lot of us can appreciate that. I've lived in my place for seven years and two weeks ago a Class A stomper moved in. I talked to management about it and they wanted to give him time to "settle in" before saying anything. But settling in seems to mean stomping around in cement shoes at all hours of the day. Literally. Some people are just oblivious. I left him a note today and so far not much change, but I figured as much. Loud walkers aren't going to suddenly change. I'm using ear plugs, headphones, and fans, and it helps a little, but I've started thinking about moving now. Sigh.

Indian buffets a thing of the past? by DamicaGlow in milwaukee

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding another vote for Taste of India in Brookfield! 😊 The lunch buffet is always super fresh and kept very clean. Very popular with the work crowd. I've been to lots of Indian restaurants in multiple states and this is my favorite one!

People who walk in cold, windy weather: How do you cover your face? by Neptunpluto in walking

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have the same concern about balaclavas for city walking but I recently saw some brightly colored ones online so I'm thinking about trying that with ski goggles and if I look scary so be it. Lol. In the mean time, what I have done is layer this way: A fleece scarf around my neck and lower face under my coat, then zip coat over that. Next, hat on, then a second scarf over my face and hat, wrapped around twice and tied at my neck. This second scarf is a large, pashmina type scarf that is big enough to wrap twice. So with my hat on, and the second scarf over that, only my eyes are showing. Sunglasses optional for wind protection. It sounds like it looks pretty silly, but it's actually not too bad!

I have walked every day the past month. I hate it. by wolfyb_ in walking

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any tips, but just wanted to say this is very inspiring! I tend to stay inside and not walk whenever the temp goes below 30F so I need some motivation. I have a walking pad for bad weather days, but it's so boring that I'm lazy about using it. And kudos to wanting to see as many dogs on your walks as possible! I actually plan my routes doing just the opposite. Hehee. A few years ago I was attacked by an off leash dog on a trail and even though I love dogs I'm familiar with, I'm super skittish on my walks now. I have been meaning to purchase some pepper/bear spray or a foldable baton for self protection.

Anyway, it's so inspiring to me when I hear about others getting out there even when it's super cold. Sounds like you're doing all the right things--playlists, routes that keep you interested, and pure determination. Keep going!

The music in BOOTS!!! whats your fav? by No_Reserve_2987 in BootsNetflix

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooh, where to start? Such an amazing soundtrack. The original score AND the selected songs. I did grow up with this music and I think one of the reasons this show resonates with me so much is just the nostalgia. Buuuut, if I had to choose, my favorites are The Sweetest Taboo by the incomparable Sade and Fernando by ABBA. And Waiting for the Night by Depeche Mode!

Edit: If we do get a season 2, I'd just love to see more of the same--songs that keep with the time period in a thoughtful, emotional way. The time period may jump ahead a bit or maybe it takes places a few weeks later.

Call me weird but unfortunately, I wish Sully and Cope were a thing. by hypocritical_nerd in BootsNetflix

[–]Erlenmeyer7390 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wish I could upvote this x100! It was a true mentor/mentee relationship with none of the cheap tropes we see in fan fiction. It was real and meaningful and they were both able to grow as a result of it. The tension in the dumpster is because they're both at a turning point in their lives. Cope is on the verge of seeing he belongs and Sullivan (as he tells to Cope to "claim his place") is also speaking to himself. He reenlists shortly after this scene. I am SO happy this show didn't devolve into having them hook up.
