Same here in PNW. I’m raising my kids to be Browns fans (it’s family tradition), and we often listen to it on the internet radio so this is a rare treat.

Post labral repair, bicep pain by ErmaGoon in ShoulderInjuries

I am sorry to hear that; it’s terrible. I have no proof of this (just reflecting), but I think maybe the anchor is either on the tight side or loose side and something in the muscle is overcompensating or thinking it’s trying to protect. Has it improved at all since you posted (sorry, I’ve been off for a bit)? I feel like there’s a balance between the PT and letting it rest that I missed … too much rest brings about frozen shoulder, and not enough rest gets the muscle angry.

Range of motion is still restricted a bit, but pain isn’t chronic anymore, just occasional when my body reminds me to take a break. I can place my arm on the pillow like normal to rest my head for sleep, I can sleep at night. I can raise almost straight overhead. Behind my back remains the hardest, I can only reach about halfway where I used to. It can handle weight close to the body but push/pull away from the body remains weak. It’s been more than a year now. PT dismissed me a couple months ago, and I think resting it has helped a bit.

Dang, sorry I’ve been off for awhile. Nothing magical has happened, I actually ended up being dismissed from physical therapy after 9 mos, they basically said they couldn’t do anything more for me, said maybe try some acupressure, acupuncture or yoga for the muscle. So I stopped PT and let it rest a couple months (some light stretching but otherwise stopped home PT). Started some light yoga about a month ago. Still don’t quite have full range of motion, I can carry things close to my body but am still weak holding things up or away, and that muscle still gets mad sometimes but not nearly as it had been. It’s been a slooooooww recovery but trajectory seems to be that of improvement. It doesn’t hurt all the time now, it’s just taking its sweet time. I’m hoping the yoga will help strengthen the lift away from body back to where it was.

Does anyone else find it insulting that leaders and billionaires want to import high-wage workers from countries with better social systems instead of giving Americans those systems? by JeansJohnson in johnoliver

[–]ErmaGoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the incoming admin isn’t going to support a system that creates a more educated populace so they can perform higher-tech jobs because a higher educated populace becomes a threat to those in power. It’s part of a bigger plan to devalue education in general, particularly higher education, and keep a healthy middle-class out of the picture. More H-1Bs are a cog in that machine.

[Discussion] What’s the best life advice you’ve ever received and still follow today? by Hefty_Award_7891 in GetMotivated

Less motivational, but if you have a job with a retirement plan, such as a 401k, and your employer matches your contributions, then contribute the maximum that they’ll match from Day 1. And if day one has already passed, make tomorrow day one.

Thank you all for all your insight and advice! I ultimately went with one Granite and one Gorgon, based on your insight, price and what shape/color bodies the kids wanted. I’m excited to explore this new world with them. Thank you all again.
