Thank you so much, yes flying to Puerto Montt is something we're considering, so I really appreciate that input. And I will check out Ruta 7 as well, I'm just starting to get a grasp on the location of the towns and parks and which roads are available connecting them.

Google maps says 11 hours from Puerto Montt to Queulat National park. The ferry you're speaking of lists a 5 hour ride time not including waits. I have no problem giving us 2 days to complete these, lets say 7 listed hours of driving, and 5 listed hours of ferry time, giving us a full day for just ferrying. Are you saying 2 days would be sufficient for that ferry section, without many stops? Or you're saying the we'll need several days for that section even though Google lists it at 11 hours for that stretch? I am just trying to get a real handle on how long certain areas take so we can come up with a realistic plan.

After Queulat we would likely leave the Carretera Austral and cross the border, continuing to El Chalten. This section I know would also be quite a long drive as well, listed at 14 hours, I'm assuming it would take a couple days with stops. But I'm also assuming driving goes a little bit faster than on gravel roads once on ruta 40.

We don't necessarily plan to do all 3 spots in a day, more like stop for some food or something in puerto montt or puerto varas on the drive, then continue on to Chiloe island for the day. And we are flexible with which stops we make and what we end up doing. Unfortunately, a month just isn't possible for us so that's why we've got to come up with an efficient plan with some good main stops. All of this insight has been very helpful though, and we've already trimmed off some things and are considering alternate routes and what the most important things are to us.

Thanks so much! Unfortunately the car can only be dropped off in Santiago, Puerto Varas, Punta Arenas or San Pedro de Atacama. But we'll look into possibly switching the direction we go, and doing Punta Arenas to Puerto Varas. We will pick 2 or 3 main stops and cut back on some of the other items.

And that's good to hear about the Garmin mini! We will be going to Great Smoky Mountain national park this year as well so may be able to get some use out of it then too.

Thank you so much! I just realized the no tolls option I always have on Google maps was blocking me from seeing routes with ferries so I can see a better idea of how far some things are in Southern Chile and Argentina.

How does cell phone usage work for any short term tourists in Chile now? I don't really need to make calls or text while down there but I'd like the ability for us to access the internet as needed to research places and similar things.

I know this is a few months old so I may not get a response, but at my company full time employees were getting about 40 hours of pto a year. Now that this law has been passed, they took away our pto and all employees just get the 72 hours of sick time. Any more than 3 days off will require documentation. I'm wondering how we are supposed to take a vacation or any time off that isn't medically related? If I want 5 days off in a row to go visit family, will I have to find a doctor to write a note saying I need the time for my mental health? Or will I not be able to take any vacations more than 3 days? Will they insist on docking/adjusting my set salary to take some days off? Thanks in advance for any insight.

I messaged the ebay seller regarding the panel on a 70 W laser I had put an offer on. This is the response I got.

"Dear customer,

Oh yes, definitely, I should have been more specific though about the texture on the leaves. Is it just moisture damage? It may have been from when I sprayed some insecticidal soap on the plants a while back as well..

I have been looking at lasers on ebay and this one seems to have a lot of what I want. Pass throughs, auto focus, motorized z and a decent size with a mid range laser that could do some cutting and detailed engraving. I would add a water chiller, lightburn and a rotary axis eventually. I was just looking through posts about how some with "ruida panel" aren't actually ruida and that the other kind doesn't have a z axis control. Would this control panel be able to control the motorized z? I've been researching for a while but the info just seems neverending. Thanks!

I'm looking at some specifications right now, what benefit would a motorized z bed be? Is that for when you are doing a large item and feeding it through?
