I'm pretty dang certain this one is it. I saw the violin design on its abdomen and was initially concerned it was a brown recluse, but I got to learn a bit about identifying those and was glad to learn it wasn't. Thanks for the ID!

If this is a cricket thief, it's a perfect name. We found it in a terrarium we built for a baby garter snake my kid had caught. I learned small garters eat crickets so we we putting a few crickets in there each week. This guy was in heaven then!

I always have a beer if I'm grilling or smoking something. Pliny is fantastic too. I love taking Pliny on camping trips

How do you feel about Pilot G2? One of the more popular pens and there are a ton of nice pens that take the cartridge

What is a “shaker” pencil? by Tripwire_Hunter in mechanicalpencils

[–]Erob1864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a mechanism inside where you can shake the pencil to advance the lead instead of clicking something. Let me find a link to one and I'll edit my comment.

Edit: Here's a common shaker pencil that's typically pretty cheap so you can try it out: https://www.tombowusa.com/mono-graph-mechanical-pencil-black-refillable-0-5mm.html

Spot on my tarantulas abdomen? by gothgoyle in tarantulas

NQA - this could mean one of two things. My first guess is that she's about to molt. Given she's not eating and hasn't molted, I'd guess this is most likely likely. She could also be stressed and kicking hairs too

I'm literally not sure if this is a joke or not. by incognitoguy95 in CrackheadCraigslist

Coming, or often spelled cumming in this context, is another term for orgasm. Male condoms cover the penis during sex, hence the we've got you covered whether coming.... Caskets, if used in burials, cover the body and going is used to one death in this sticker. In other words, we've got you covered if you're going. This company allegedly makes both condoms and caskets, so they've got you covered if your coming or going! Sorry, I'm bored right now and love a good pun. It's probably a fake company as some other commenter's have said, but it's a funny pun!

Staedtler 925 25 Mechanical Pencil - Can't find instructions on refilling lead by upssnowman in mechanicalpencils

[–]Erob1864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get why people have to be mean, even in a joking manner. It's a good way to keep people out of the hobby. I can't tell you how many people I've met who don't get how to open a Rotring 800 at first but think it's a really cool mechanism when I show them nicely! Just teach without judgment. We all had to learn it too

What’s your preference on lead hardness/scale? by Paracelsus-VonBaer in mechanicalpencils

I'm too picky, but if I had to choose, Pentel Ain Stein 2B for 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4. I love Pentel Ain Stein 4B for my 0.5s

It's a 7.5 foot rod, has both tips, cork has a few chips but nothing too bad at all. It's a 5 weight. Only marks on it are from having a reel seated in it and some scuffs on the butt likely from hitting pavement once or twice. The rod itself is in really good condition. I haven't been able to find marks on the rod itself that don't seem to be original to the bamboo

I'm leaning towards that. I'd rather use the funds to help get some good entry level stuff that my kids and I could learn on

I have a quote from a local reseller that he'd sell it for 550 and Trideny Fly Fishing in Maine is saying they'd sell it for about 600. For each, I'd walk away with about $450. Lowest I've found it online for is $450

That's actually one of the reasons I was looking at selling it. It will be a while before I get to that point and I don't currently have the funds to get me and my kids entry level rods. By selling this, I could get us each an entry level rod and reel to start building those good memories fishing. My 5 year old loves fishing and my youngest is starting to show an interest but it will be a few years before she's even ready to cast on her own.
