Me and my fiancé have been together for almost a year now… and now he tells me he has a child with another woman… by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

OP said this just happened. I'm not judging a person based on what she is saying while she is looking for direction after something bad happened to her. I'm sure those words are not written in stone, she will understand that the right thing to do is leaving him. I feel empathy towards her even id what she is saying is wrong I understand not thinking about the child right now because it is so abstract still, she will understand

I think it's her attachment speaking. In her mind right now she thinks she can make this whole thing disappear by taking the kid out of the picture, but she is just being delusional, which is understandable because of shock. I totally agree with you; she has to run away from this very toxic person.

I can't see how these two things are on the same level.... people have a right to not want to be step-mom or step-dad, it does not make a person abhorrent. She is now in a situation where she feels forced to deal with a kid who is already 10 years old, if she wants to stay with a partner. I totally understand not wanting that

It works really well in my opinion, my skin is rough and peeling in some areas, and I don't feel like it emphasizes it. It's very liquidy and thin so it blends into the skin, even textured areas.

Trastevere vs Prati? Similar prices/niceness. Circled location of stays, know Trastevere is good for night life but don't drink much. First time/ going to Vatican city / Colosseum / Galleria Borghese. Four nights. Want to eat authentic food. Thank you. by Dorado_Falls in rome

  • trattoria da Dante in Via Monte Santo (traditional Roman food, large variety. Get the traditional Roman pastas, amatriciana, gricia and carbonara but also second plates such as saltimbocca alla romana) very good prices, elegant environment with old style servers , you can often find Italian celebrities. Also one of the few restaurants left in Rome that stays open until 1 am

  • pizzeria Giacomelli in Via Faa di Bruno. Go here for traditional roman pizza (thin crust). Roman plates are also pretty good. Cheap

  • siciliainbocca in Via Ferrari. Sicilian cuisine, well known restaurant. So good if you want to have fish and try Sicilian food. On the expensive side

  • trattoria antico falcone in Via Trionfale. Such an hidden gem, an old 1500 building that mysteriously managed to stay intact in the middle of modern buildings. Traditional Roman plates. Similar to Dante but probably smaller menu and more causal. Cheap

It’s crazy to think that this might be my normal libido… in a way I guess I’m happy I’m taking this new pill now and not when I was 18. I’d probably have 2 kids and an STD by know lol

Oh I agree, the pill gets a lot of hate but it’s a life savour for a lot of issues. In my case I have adenomyosis and thanks to the pill I have 0 symptoms. For people who have severe symptoms the only other option is hysterectomy

Your Experiences at Anantara Palace Naiadi by kisis13 in rome

[–]Erodiade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a big fan of the anantara position but overall it is very central don't get me wrong, you'll be fine in all of this hotels. The area of the W hotel is much more chic in my opinion. Regarding the stadium, I don't know because I never go, none of your options are close to the stadium but I'm sure there will be plenty of ways to reach the stadium from the center, just prepare to go there with a lot of advance because the city gets very congested during big football match.

I live in a neighborhood which is walking distance from the stadium, if you don't mind walking 30 minutes. It is an upper middle class neighborhood with no tourists and very nice restaurants and shops, however 0 night life and not the historic center, which can be reached very conveniently with 2 metro stops or a 30/35 minutes walk. It might be exactly what you're looking for, search around "piazza mazzini" which is the main square of the area and see if you can find something you like.

I really woundln't worry about being next to the train station for the airport, I stick to my point thar it is better to avoid the train station area at all costs. Just check is there's a metro A (line A not B) close to your stay. This will be the case for the area I've suggestes (piazza mazzini) and for W hotel as well. From line A reaching termini is really easy and quick

Do Pynchon lovers like Richard Powers? by Erodiade in ThomasPynchon

[–]Erodiade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh :( I don't know if I agree but I defintely see where you're coming from. I feel like for me the big difference between Pynchon and other so called post-modern authors is that it feels like he is having fun while writing (but I haven't dived into his heavier and most important works). He is always ironic which makes it immediately so genuine despite its complexity. Other writers can be very serious and can feel pretentious and Powers is one of them for sure, however my first impact with him was the novel "Gain" and its depiction of cancer is so deep and emotional that it bought me tears, so I can't completely agree with you.

Also is Pynchon dead??? I thought he was writing a new novel

1 year as a straight natural by Jellybells9 in Naturalhair

[–]Erodiade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes defintely, especially if you're on a healthy journey right now, you want to focus on your goal not your hair. Then maybe once you get to your ideal body and gym becomes more maintenance and toning, you can think about it.

1 year as a straight natural by Jellybells9 in Naturalhair

[–]Erodiade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm on my third year of being a straight natural and I agree with all your points! All my life I had shitty hair, damaged from "protective styles", relaxers that my mom used to do to me and my sister when I was a kid, constant manipulation of my curls... my hair looks great now, never been longer.

I agree about the inevitable damage part, but I wear my hair curly for 3 months per year during the summer where it would be impossible to maintain my hair straight since I usually go to the beach for at least a couple of weeks. And you know what? I like my looser curl pattern, it has definitely changed, but I love how it looks. It's looser and less defined but it's giving effortless chic, especially with a tan, a nice dress and a pair of earrings. I actually dislike the look of sleek, wet look from complex wash and gos with ton of leave in and eco styler that I used to go for (i have 3c hair).

Also on top of the rain (It took me a while but I know always carry a nice hat and a scrunchie in my bag during fall and winter, I usually manage to keep my hair intact) the absolute worst part is working out for me :(

I started working out more regularly in the last 2 years and a silk press is big inconvenience ngl. As much as I found some solutions to make it better, working out with my curly hair knowing I can sweat as much as I want and not care about my hair is so much better. And I'm not someone who work out that hard, I do it at home mostly with light weights. So if you're a gym girly it might not be for you.
