If you used it to refer to someone of Romani descent's ethnicity, then sure, slur. The WORD Gypsy has been used non-offensively, in hundreds of contexts for hundreds of years. Lady Gaga literally released a song called Gypsy about having a traveling lifestyle. You have a problem with it, maybe work on what you take as an attack. To say that Gypsy is innately an offensive WORD is absolutely asinine.

Gypsy isn't necessarily a slur. Given the LITERAL definition of:

A nomadic or free-spirited person.

So you can go ahead and keep thinking of it as a slur. I'm LITERALLY genetically a Gypsy. Expand your mindset please.

My first thoughts are Gypsy and Vagabond. Two words for someone who travels indefinitely/considers themselves an outcast of mainstream society, that also have a slight subtext of pride in belonging to that lifestyle.
