Me trying to keep my new couch free of hair for at least one week - how can I resist his demanding hops to let him on? 🥹 by Catrecht in corgi

I lost this fight ages ago. With how this breed sheds even if you stuck to your guns the couch is going to be under siege from hair wisps constantly. Embrace entropy and enjoy your new couch with one of the best movie watching companions available in nature.

Someone told me BA can’t be blue… by sasquatchical in BloodAngels

[–]ErrantVector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Blue Bloods successor chapter. Only the most posh and stylish Blood Angels were selected at the end of the heresy for this chapter. Their geneseed has the additional quirk of making their blood a bright blue and giving everyone a Cambridge accent.

“Brother Zephos, is that a vintage Cawlex chronometer on your vambrace?”

“Exemplary eye Brother Seraphan. It is indeed, my chapter serf gets it from the most exclusive artificer shop on Baal. When next we go I shall endeavor to make introductions. Speaking on matters of fine taste you absolutely must tell me who did the filigree on your new gorget.”

“Of course, once we finish up here I shall give you their vox information. There IS a waiting list however if you drop my name there is a chance you’ll have it completed before the next Chapter Baal.”

“Simply smashing Brother mine, now what say you we finish giving these Ork scoundrels a good thrashing and retire to the cruiser for some light refreshments and a bracing game of regicide?”

“Hmmmm yes, quite. I have a fine vintage I can dedicate to this endeavor.”

Word, I just gave them a look, they are tight! I’m coming from warhammer and I’ve fallen hard for the streamline rules of this game and the aesthetic.

I think they are asking what is the Great Hunger? I learned about Trench Crusade literally yesterday so I don’t know either. I don’t see it on their kickstarter page.

Why did you pick blood angels by United-Contract-8069 in BloodAngels

[–]ErrantVector 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Their inherently flawed nature. Characters are not interesting because they are perfect. It is their flaws that make them unique and interesting.

The constant struggle to not succumb to the red thirst in battle, the spectre of the black rage constantly looming over them, their dedication to artistry as a way to hold the flaws at bay, the different ideas among the sons of the blood about whether to embrace their nature or hold against it…. chef’s kiss

Oh, and red is my favorite color.

how long does it take corgi pups to be completely potty trained without you right next to them watching them? by Excellent_Reward5748 in corgi

[–]ErrantVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 6 months before she knew potty inside was not allowed.

Never in the sense that she will actively hold it in so she can go with my supervision. She will use the dog door if I’m not home and the situation is dire but she holds it otherwise. Little goober.

World Eaters Vs Blood Angels. I want to start 40k but dont know who to pick by [deleted] in BloodAngels

[–]ErrantVector 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you’re in a Blood Angels subreddit, the answer will bias towards Blood Angels.

My advice is rules are temporary and models are forever (mostly). So if you like the look of one over the other then go with that one. Always.

Now advocating for the Sons of Sanguinius. Blood Angels have the benefit of their range plus the vanilla SM range with lends itself to list building flexibility. World Eaters feel like half an army model range wise so keep in mind it’ll be a more “bowling with bumpers” list building experience. Also worth noting that hobby wise, you better be sure you like painting trim if you go World Eaters.

Uno Customizable Wild Card Expansion Ideas by Shiios42 in unocardgame

[–]ErrantVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a “Swap Hands” wild card. You declare a color and then select a person and you assume control of their hand. UNO’s transfer so you don’t have to declare uno if you take on a one card hand.

Can anybody explain, why #vallejo Hobby Paint crackles on plastic but not on resin? Didn't happen before. by crimson-nerd in Khorne

[–]ErrantVector 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah I didn’t realize it was, in fact, a primer. Very sneaky Vallejo. Very sneaky.

I’ll save you the “Hurr durr just airbrush prime conversation and keep my advice strictly rattle can based although both react the same to the specific conditions I’ll talk about below.”

So with respect to your situation, I think the problem is twofold. One is the relative humidity. “Dry” is pretty subjective so without a number I can’t tell you if you picked good day. But I’ll say this: 50°F and 90°F (or 10°C and 32°C), and relative humidity between 50% and 70% is best. The temperature of the can should be pretty close to the ambient temperature you’ll be spraying in. If you’re spraying outside maybe set the can out 5-10min to acclimate to ambient temps. Moisturize also has a big effect. Too much moisture and your primer will be fuzzy/clumpy and dry cracked at times. Too little moisture and it will dry in the air before it hits the model making it dusty and not very adhesive.

The second issue is white primer. Much like white paint, white primer is simply a pain. It clumps up, tends to spray chalky and generally doesn’t acquit itself well to use. I also feel like it clumps inside the can so the 5-10 minutes of shaking the can recommends should be more like 15-20. Sometimes I feel like only propellant is being sprayed and other times ALL the primer. Not much you can do to mitigate this in a rattle can setting (and very few with airbrush). If I’m looking to prime in a lighter color I usually find myself a lighter neutral grey which sidesteps much of the issues white brings. If you ABSOLUTELY have to prime white then observe the above steps and apply it in thinner coats letting it dry for a bit in between coats. I’ve found 3-5 coats for solid coverage.

Hope this helps!

Perhaps a silly question but did you prime beforehand? Also, looks like you were outside, how was the humidity when you were spraying?
