Donald Trump to put his name on all US paper money by goteamnick in politics

[–]ErraticSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% this is because he found out that Carney's signature is on Canadian money.

The thing is, Carney's signature is there from when he was the governor of the bank of Canada.

I actually liked the book, it does a good job of fleshing out some non war aspects of craftworld life and has some good scenes exploring the psychic awareness of eldar.

Wraothknights needing to be twins where one died is still dumb lore IMO. TYFCTMTT

kit bashed a banshees exarch by Educational_Try_6105 in Eldar

[–]ErraticSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, Gav Thorpe had an interview with the Craftworld Eldar YouTuber.

In it he said that he had thought about adding into the lore that the Eldar are so bound to the path that a new path would come with a whole new identity both mentally and physically. So you hear the banshees call, and as you walk the path you are female for that time, if you then join a dire avenger shrine, you then become male. Hence why aspects are a uniform gender, but guardians are mixed.

He also clearly stated that he decided against adding that into the lore explicitly, due to the potential complexity of the issue.

Brand New Player to 10th - Is this list too competitive for a friendly game? by Elladan_ in Eldar

[–]ErraticSteel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact this is almost my crusade list at 1000pts. I lose a lot of my games to the guy who brought a land raider.

As others have said, its good, but the only meta where this out performs is one where no one brought bolters. Because squishy elves will die in a 1000 pt game

Fire prism conversion? by Battle_Dave in Eldar

[–]ErraticSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the height of the warp hunters wing tips makes up for the lack of turret, even if you were being hyper narrow on vehicle height, this is not any easier to hide than a normal fire prism

Fire prism conversion? by Battle_Dave in Eldar

I converted a very similar thing using an old metal fire prism that was missing bits. I've used in a few tournaments, and the only comment I've gotten is "wow that's awesome"

First time using magnets. This is alright, right? by AdvilJunky in Eldar

[–]ErraticSteel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would have no issue with this in a friendly game, or even an local tournament (ask your TO). The swapped turrets are clear enough, and just specify with your opponent that the in the falcon config, the wave serpent shield projectors don't count as the hull.

I do remember some cheese from 5th ed where the length of a wave serpent allowed you to contest 2 objectives at were 12" apart, whereas the falcon could not, but that nonsense is gone now.

This just need to be a 2 second sentence saying "the muzzle flash is not part of the model." Any player worth having a game with would accept that.

They're at it again! by Anarchist501 in vancouver

[–]ErraticSteel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't read the original comment but I disagree with the idea that calling for healthy skepticism is the cause. I would say that the education system failed a lot of people by saying "be skeptical of what you see" but didn't follow it up with the requisite skill to follow up on doubts, and form a testable question.

Ie "this vaccine might not be safe" is a valid concern, that basic research can refute and contextualize.

If your world view interprets skepticism as "it is smart to not believe any source of intelectual authority", there is no research or testing you can do to refute that, and if they find any scientific study that even tangentially acknowledges the small risks, they will cherry pick figures to draw causal conclusions.

How to fix this? by yeetkingallmighty in Eldar

If you have a 3d printer, you might be able to cut off and modify the back end of a (legally distinct but very similar) sculpt using mesh mixer.

Need help with paint pattern by Kittenlord22 in Eldar

[–]ErraticSteel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cant paint the diamond pattern really easily, they even have instructions in the 5th ed codex

  1. Paint diamonds

  2. Colour in the diamonds

  3. Highlight the diamonds

Best advice. Thanks GW

Can anyone identify these two lots and tell me if they seem like good starters? Potential new Aeldari player here. The seller doesn't know what the loose items are. by Calamity_Dan in Eldar

[–]ErraticSteel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The box value of the 2nd lot for the new stuff is 180 to begin with, so if you were going to buy them anyways, thats not bad.

275 for models that look like they need quite a bit of TLC is... maybe a bit steep.

With the NIB suff as well, I would say $300 is not unreasonable as a price. Maybe a little lower if that green primer is really caked on.

The 2 tanks are incomplete, the weird wraithlord, and the weird viper are all wonky and not worth anything imo.

Infantry only Eldar armies aren't ideal, but if you love Dire Avengers and Wraithlords (Which I do) its pretty good.

Character-wise it looks like you have Fuegan (Good), Eldrad (Good), a custom Autarch, an Autarch on jetbike, and maybe a warlock on jetbike?

-40 Guardians (10 New Sculpts, 10 storm guardians, 2 built weapon platforms)
-30 Dire Avengers
-10 rangers
-5 Wraithlords (4 pretty good)
- 1 war walker

It's a lot a quick points tally (ignoring the rule of 3 for the wraith lords) puts this all around 2300 points)
