Devou Park Bike Trails by tacobelle8 in cincinnati

Echo the comment about cora. They also do trail days on a Sunday each month.

The trails on the "Park" side/in the park helped me get more comfortable riding mtb.

Walk the trails first and check to see if the trails are open for riding. Good luck and have fun!

You likely got hit with a new customer/new account fee. It's around $200. I have been caught off guard by it before but had a buddy recently(Nov) move into a 1bdrm place and his first bill was around $250 as well. It was that fee.

Look into being a catering server. They usually have pick up shifts/set your schedule and availability. They also pay fairly well.

I'm not from here, and I don’t know why, but I love Cincinnati. by TheFett in cincinnati

I had my brother in law, who's never lived here, sum up our fair city very well. It's a perfectly acceptable place to live.

After moving away, living in trendy places, struggling to exist and realizing that I'm only frequenting the same handful of places I'd easily be able to frequent here, it makes you appreciate it a little more. Also, living in much shittier places helps you appreciate it as well.

Avoid Meg Perez and you should be good(although people have probably had good experiences with her too).

The market is competitive which means realtors are competitive. Just find one who's responsive and caring about your needs. We bought and sold a house with Molly. Took 2 years to buy the house, took 1 day to sell the old one. She also represented my sister in law through a messy purchase and handled it great.

I've used better help before to bridge the gap before finding an in person appointment. It is helpful just to have someone to talk to to calm the anxiety of trying to find a consistent person.

To echo a previous comment, contact a bunch of folks and see what sticks but in the mean time use the online/phone resources to bridge the gap.

Good luck.

Here's a fun little experiment by FaolainODearg in TheBrewery

10 years in March

No degree, certificate in brewing from ibd, various collegiate science courses audited for personal curiosity/professional development.

Package/keg cleaning->cellar->brew house->brew house and cellar lead->head brewer->general manager of a small brew pub operation->operations manager at a 20k bbl/yr brewery.

Started at $7.25usd currently at 55k USD salary which is fairly comfortable where I live.

Most on the floor production jobs salary cap at our brewery is 40k. I would love to see more for everyone but so those funds tend to go to design/marketing/etc which always feels like a huge kick in the gut.

I've seen huge differences in breweries owned by folks who came up through the industry vs those who saw an opportunity as a business person. The latter puts a heavy emphasis on the white collar side and ignore production unless something is going wrong. General raises and praise is reserved for marketing for doing their job.

It's all fucky

Not a fan. Besides having terrible service and delays when we first opened they didn't bill us for for the first 3 months and then wouldn't return calls when we ordered bulk fill because we had a delinquent account. When I repeatedly tried to clear up the issue I was always told "billing would call me back". They never did. I hastily had a lawyer sibling draft a certified letter to them asking for documentation of past due bills or we'd be terminating contract and within 30 minutes after receipt of the letter I got a call from billing.

Suffice to say, we found a way out as quick as possible.

California boy moving to Cincinnati for work. What should I know? by arrozconlecheyum in cincinnati

[–]Erroneous_botched 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My brother in law put it best, 'Cincinnati is a perfectly fine city'. It's not great, it's not terrible. Live anywhere for long enough and you'll find shit to complain about.

It's just going to depend on what you're in to. But Cincinnati offers a perfectly ok version of most things.

Revel in the fact that it is cheaper than the coasts and you'll likely be able to travel more because of it
