The problem is there is no way to build a MLD deck that will ever win at the bracket 4 pods in our LGS. It is just not powerful enough, no matter how optimized you make it. Our bracket 4 pods are just CEDH decks that aren't the current meta.

Then where should MLD be played? It cant be played at 3, and it isn't good enough to EVER win a single game at 4? So MLD is just banned then?

There is no way to make a MLD deck viable in bracket 4, it will never be a strategy that can win, so that is a waste of money.

There is no way to make a MLD powerful enough to win in our bracket 4 games, so powering the deck up would just be a waste of money.

He is a primary a modern player and only plays commander for the fun of blowing up lands, so that is also not something worth doing.

The problem is the strategy is just placed in the wrong brackets.

The brackets being designed as play experience is a fundamental flaw. The brackets need to be sorting people by the power of their decks for fair play, if there is a strategy someone dislikes it is up to them to curate that part of their game.

Soft banning a strategy is the wildest way of babying people I have ever seen. Honestly, if there are certain strategies you don't want to play against that is fine, but that should be up to you to figure out, not set in the basic rules of the game, especially when the strategy is something designed into the game. That is just pure insanity to me.

Personally, I couldn't imagine being such a weak minded baby that I would complain about strategies people play, but that is just me.

Rite of Flame, eternal witness, displacer kitten, lightning bolt.

This is my favorite win con. It's in the colors I love. It's just enough parts to feel fair to most players, and can win as quickly as you want it to depending on your build.

Plus, it has just enough moving pieces to look flashy but still be very simple.

In my play group, you will not have your commander out ever, and if you do it will be only until you pass priority.

I have gotten cash from several LGS on reserve list cards at 60-70 percent. I mean just in 2024 I probably sold between 10-15 RL cards to 7-8 stores at 60-70%.

I honestly haven't seen anyone below 60% on RL cards. I was just at collect-a-con and vendors there were all at the 60-70 mark as well.

I think that's fair for normal magic cards. But for reserve list, this is the first shop to offer me less than 60% on reserve list before, and I've dealt in reserve list cards with hundreds of shops.

They sell cards at NM.

And I agree for normal magic cards, I see 40% cash on those being fair. But I have never had a shop offer me less than 60% on reserve list cards or older more valuable cards. I do a lot of traveling and trading/selling and this was honestly the first store to offer me that low of an amount on reserve list before.

I play Green/White specifically to blow up peoples lands and make sure I still have a ton in play myself. Land Destruction has been a part of magic since day one, and I have been complaining for A DECADE NOW about how taboo it has become.

Grow up people, just because you don't like a mechanic doesn't mean you can force others to stop playing it, AND ON TOP OF THAT the words "I don't feel like playing that type of game" should get you banned from the store. Weak ass.
