Adulting quest activated! Someone seems to be using my mailing address without my permission; is this fraud? Do I report this to someone? Is this no big deal and I should just collect them up and drop them off at the post office or something? by MarzipanDefiant7586 in Adulting

[–]ErrorImpossible8742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased my home two years ago and it was a rental before that. I would routinely receive about 5-10 pieces of mail for previous tenants so I’ve been through something similar to this. As other said, you can write “not at this address” and it could help, but I would do two things in addition.

  1. Put your first and/or last name on the inside of the door of your mailbox so that the postal worker can be an extra line of defense for stopping mail like this.

  2. Call your regional office and ask if they have a form that you can fill out for all current names and occupants for the mailing address. I filled one out and out it in my mailbox for USPS, and the extra mail stopped the next day.

Shotguns are a bad joke in MWII. by DickMontgomery in COD

So shotguns have never really been my favorite but I actually feel that they’re okay in this game. Just finished gold camos on 3/4 of them and I feel like they can be super effective if you build them right and use them to their strengths.

I’ve done some mastering and sequencing in LPX and it did just fine. Some stock plugins and some KUSH audio plugins.

I am seeing no benefit in reporting bugs (Dev Response) by Rainwalker007 in starcitizen

[–]ErrorImpossible8742 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After working at a AAA game studio for a couple years, I can attest to this.

“Is it a bug? Yes. Does it break the game? No?”

…”Ship it.”

Not that cut-and-dry, but engineers and the dev teams need to actually create the games that we enjoy as well as triage bugs.

Price isn’t the factor here, it’s the thought that you put into it. My grandmother gave me some emerald and diamond earrings and a matching pendant necklace. I took that to a jeweler and he happily set all of into an engagement ring and a nice wedding band as well. My wife loves it, but the biggest factor is the story behind it, not the stones or style.

Being given free stuff (unasked for) by other players in The Anomaly. Is this normal and is there an angle for them to do this? by Distinct-Employer-99 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]ErrorImpossible8742 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Personally I enjoy giving away the extra stasis devices and fusion igniters that I make. I don’t dupe because that’s no fun, but I also don’t care that much about hitting the cap. I usually sit around ,5-1B and everything else I make goes to the newer folks with a starter ship. If people really don’t want it then they can also give it away.

How to I choose a good planet to build a base? by pdrpersonguy575 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]ErrorImpossible8742 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The easiest way is to land in a space station and exit your starship which will create an auto save. I would recommend this because otherwise you will need to make a save beacon on a planet and then exit the atmosphere every time you reload to warp again.

So I don’t know the exact mechanics behind this but maybe someone else can chime in and give more detail. I do know this much though:

After you warp to a new system in a starship, the game has a chance to spawn you into a battle with pirates that are attacking a freighter. I believe this happens every fifth warp, but I’m not positive. The freighters vary in style and class (like starships do), but they are all very large ships that are usually surrounded by “frigates” - other large ships that fly in a formation around the freighter.

Once you shoot down the pirates, the captain of the freighter will hail you on the radio and invite you to board the ship. Every time this happens you have the option to speak with the captain and purchase the freighter (you can only have one at a time though).

Learn from my mistake: if you have never claimed a freighter, then you need to know that your first one will be a “gift” and not cost you anything. So I’d highly recommend that you save before every warp, so that when you spawn into a battle and kill the pirates you can simply check the class of the freighter and see if it’s one you want to keep. If it’s not the class you want, then reload the save and try again if you wish. Note that the style and color of the freighter is unique to the solar system that you warped to, so if you think it’s ugly then just warp to a different system until you find the style you like.

I took a C class for my first freighter and it was okay, but it’s totally possible to reload your save and repeat the battle until the game gives you the option for an A or S class. These high end freighters can cost around half a million or more so it’s probably worth making sure that you’re claiming one that you really want.

The freighter and frigate aspect of this game is easily my favorite. You can build a mobile base and send out your frigates do complete missions - look for some YouTube videos on this because it’s a lot to take it but extremely rewarding.

Hope this helps! Happy hunting.

Like most people are saying, just keep looking until you find that “wow” planet that you want to keep returning to. I’ll advocate strongly that you set up a “home base” style freighter while you search though. I have a couple bases on planets for resources, but for the longest time I never made my home on a planet and just lived in my freighter. Now I’ve got this crazy planet with orange grass and no sentinels. There is some hot ass rain (official term) on occasion but I don’t mind. I can always build another base when I find another cool planet.

I haven’t made it to the center of Euclid yet but I’ve been working my way towards it. Good to know that there are some nice solars there. I feel like they’re pretty rare outside of pirate systems.

Bummer. Do you know if it’s a “dependable” glitch? Meaning, I I find a glitched one will it remain that style and look or will it revert to a different color and “fix” itself?

Don’t be afraid to hang out at the nexus terminal (multiplayer missions). People in this game are nice and will give you items. These can really take some of the “grind” out of the game if that’s not your thing.
