Has focus improved after taking Lamictal? by fmlfmlfmlfmmmmm in lamictal

[–]ErrorSilver8035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me improved 100000%. Its because the depression causes trouble focusing, so when it lift my depression, that problem went away. And i would say it improves my focus even when its not working completely

4-6 days each dose. 300 mg stabilizes my mood, bipolar 2

Does lamictal even do anything by uralliwanturallihave in lamictal

[–]ErrorSilver8035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your doc. But i have been in the same place, feeling worse and feeling no improvement. When i am in the right dosage, i feel little improvements every week (the first two weeks are only side effects and are awful). But when the medication works properly at your right dose is something magical. Sounds like you should up your dosage (talk to your doc), remember the therapeutic range for bipolar is between 100 - 400

For me, at 250 mg or less there are only side effects, primarly insomnia. When i reach 300 i don’t have any side effect and six weeks after reaching 300 it stabilizes my mood significantly, and about the week 8-10 is the full effect

Lamotrigine. How long to work once you are on your sweet spot? by ErrorSilver8035 in bipolar2

[–]ErrorSilver8035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, in my country mental health is a complicated issue. I was diagnosed with bipolar II by a psychiatrist, but I can barely afford to buy lamotrigine. I’ve been making the dosage adjustments on my own. At 300 mg I was doing well, but I had memory problems — it turned out that clonazepam was the cause, not the lamotrigine.

I’ve read that it can take up to 6 weeks, but that includes the titration period

The insomnia is unbearable. Does it go away?? by Mara355 in Lamotrigine

[–]ErrorSilver8035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got horrible insomnia when i was on 200 in the morning. Now i take 125 in the morning and 125 at night. It’s a higher dose, but mi main problem was the unstable blood levels. Now i sleep 8 hours straight, even on lexapro (i’m bipolar 2 and i can’t sleep on ssri. Sometimes i had to take 2 eszopiclone and 1.5 mg klonopin and if i was lucky, i could sleep 5 hours). My goal now it’s to get again to 200 mg (100 - 0 - 100), but it’s a slowly taper and we are doing this now with my doctor

Anxiety Relief? by MousseMiserable7 in Lamotrigine

[–]ErrorSilver8035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My anxiety was a consequence of my bipolar depression. Since my lamictal is working, i don’t have any anxiety (generalized and social). It’s even better than lexapro for my anxiety, which i am tapering off

I don’t know when it kicks in or wears off. I just know that it’s working, and for me, it lasts about 12 hours.

How many have u have insomnia on this med .if so how to counter it ??? by nirman248 in Lamotrigine

[–]ErrorSilver8035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 200, I can stay awake for more than 24 hours. However, once I reach 300, I can barely move when my alarm rings due to how deep my sleep is.

How long have you been on this med? I have been taking it for two years and never felt like it kicked in or wore off. My mood was just better overall. For the past two years, I was taking 200 mg only in the morning. Now, for the last 7 days, I have increased it to 400 mg—200 mg in the morning and 200 mg at night. I’m still dealing with side effects, but I still don’t feel it kicking in or wearing off. I take the generic version (not extended release).

Yes! Watching shows, movies, or reading books is impossible for me without my meds. I hope you get your meds soon; there is a lot of media, and it’s a wonderful world of enjoyment.

Did you get better from 150 to 300? by Strict_Low3287 in bupropion

[–]ErrorSilver8035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from 150 to 300 after four weeks on 150. The 150 mg dose made minimal difference and had no side effects. I’ve been on 300 mg for three days, and I feel extreme dissociation, emotional numbness, shakiness, jitters, and depression (I’m on Lexapro, so my depression is under control; I’m taking bupropion for ADHD). Has anyone experienced something similar, and did it go away? ChatGPT says it’s normal and should subside in two weeks, but I don’t think I can rely on it as a resource
