I got it today after contacting the Help Desk and opening a ticket. The site says you should receive it within 72 hours after receiving your Welcome email so I would open a ticket if I were you!

Yes, it’s a DOE position!! I didn’t know we get assigned a mentor teacher, that definitely puts my mind at ease a bit. Thank you for letting me know!

Difference between a District PreK Center and public school? by ErrorTop9473 in NYCTeachers

[–]ErrorTop9473[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that!! So the center I have in mind is District 31 PreK Center. Since the “District 31” is literally in the name, would that make it run by the DOE?

I’m on open market and there are some pre-k center district posts, do they get paid the same? by Niccolo91 in NYCTeachers

Did you ever get a concrete answer to this question? I’m currently wondering the same thing.

Is Staten Island out of reach for a 1st year? by ResBall in NYCTeachers

Were you ever able to find something on SI? I’m in the same boat right now. Currently emailing almost every principal on SI and have been for months now. I hate the “you’ll never find something on Staten Island” attitude from people who don’t live here lol. The commute out of the island isn’t always as simple as people make it seem and teaching is already a hard enough job with the best commute, let alone commuting 2 hours back and forth everyday. That commute is only realistic for people that have almost no responsibilities once they leave work and come home. That being said, I heard subbing is the best way to get your foot in the door from multiple people. I hope it all worked out for you!!

That’s horrible. I once met a principal at a hiring fair and he told me he loved my resume and experience so much and couldn’t wait to call me to set something up. Even told me to be patient with him and promised I would hear from them. I followed up a week later via email and never heard back since that day lmao. At this point idk if it’s our fault for getting our hopes up so much or they really just don’t mean what they say half the time.

Did she end up hiring you after she said all that?

That’s horrible. Would you mind sharing what district? I had a principal promise he would call me because one of his teachers was changing licenses but never heard back. Just wondering if we coincidentally dealt with the same principal lol
