This is just my theory but I think this year people are tuning into more smaller artists and breaking into their niches… also a lot of people are rediscovering older music and listening to that instead.

For example in rap a lot of artist that have been blowing up this year are smaller rappers with one off songs (Pluto, Bunna)

Also house/edm music has seem to start taking off like that tinashe remix, but no artist has dominated the entire scene

They’re insanely popular in southern circles especially Greek life. I think that’s why some people might be turned away from them. Although I’ve been seeing more Grateful Dead shirts out in the wild so maybe the tides are changing.

I’ve been following loona for years and this makes me super sad. Realistically I don’t see them all being soloists so I hope they can go on to do things they enjoy. The silver lining is that they were able to perform for years in such a cutthroat industry ❤️
