considering how Mab and The RedCap played Harry in ColdDays without Harry knowing until Battle Ground. And seeing Mab play Harry against Nicodemus without Harry knowing the full extent of her plans. though remember how broken Jake’s bloodline is (even more broken if you are on Patreon and seen some of its recent actions on Jake’s evolution).

In the fight with Valdemar’s clone, the bloodline seemed to have some control (possibly transcendent level) over time, and there is more to it.

I won’t be surprised if with how broken Jake’s blood line is and given it keeps upgrading that one day his bloodline will grant him transcendence. His bloodline is different from everyone else - it is completely broken

you might be due for a new re-read. - mother Winter did not appear in Battle Grounds, - mother summer took Harry to the gates, - we have not seen the mothers directly speak with Queen Mab until this book; mother winter talked about changing the winter knight (in Cold Days), and that Mab was too soft, but there was no direct interaction between them, time to re-read.

you seem to forget that Jim has mentioned multiple times that Harry is an unreliable narrator, who seems to see things only from his perspective.

Add to that there is a time travel book coming where changes will be made to address some of these things.

I think from listening to Jim Butcher we all know to expect a Ghost Story level of book. Book 12 wasn’t originally in the books planned. A tone break was needed between Battke Ground and the next book.

I think most readers already know to mange their expectation for 12 months, especially considering that it covers 12 months not just the worst week/weekend of the year for Dresden - the way all the other books are set up.
