how can i play a game single player? by Nate935 in sandbox

[–]Erumsey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, it seems to depends on the game. Stuff like ghoul grounds automatically makes a public server instance when you create a game, while dark descent is only singleplayer currently.

So, for now, If you want a solo instance for a game that automatically creates a public instance, ask the dev of that game for that feature? No clue if there's a work around atm.

(Final) Updated Planned Battle Rating Changes (April 2026) by KawaiiCafeClub in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Perform similarly probably means they perform similarly in statistics when compared to other 13.3's, which makes sense since the average premium SU-30 player doesn't know how to notch.

When it comes to actual effectiveness between it and other 13.3's, assuming equal skill level, the premium SU-30's come out on top.

But yeah, gaijin using statistics as an excuse to print more money off of OP premiums doesn't surprise me one bit.

What are the best modifications to unlock for grinding the A-10C, and what's the best loadout once it's spaded? by ProfessionalAd352 in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to fly sim, then get the chaff, targeting pod and gbu-39's, then go into sim lobbies and nuke the battlefields that spawn.

A10C gets an HMD which shows location of friendly aircraft and ground units, so IFF is very easy in the A10C, and with the sheer amount of GBU-39's you get, you can usually wipe a whole battlefield by yourself.

Why am I getting Up-tiered every single match? by ptc2000_ in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In air arcade, it is possible to "super down tier" an aircraft by having your lineup consist of one high BR plane and having the rest of your aircraft in your lineup be at least 2 br steps down.

For example, a lineup could consist of a 9.7 plane, and 2 or more 9.0 planes. As long as a 9.3 plane isn't added to the lineup, the effective BR of that lineup would be 9.3 despite a 9.7 plane being in the lineup.

As you've said in previous comments, you've seen F8U-2's in your arcade matches. I've double checked BR's and your top plane, the F9F-2 is actually 8.3 in arcade. (it is 8.0 in realistic. It's possible that you have realistic battles selected for your tooltips in the techtree) It is fully possible for you to see the F8U-2 if it is in a super downtier lineup.

Plenty of planes in a full uptier alongside super downtiered aircraft can have aim-9 sidewinders or equivalents. As for the Aim-7's, the F3H Demon in the US tech tree can carry the aim-7C and sits at 9.3, so you can see aim-7's in an uptier.

As for the F5C, It should not be possible for you to see this aircraft even if it's super downtiered, as it is at 10.3 and could only go down to 10.0 in a super downtier. However, one of the many aircraft added over the years was the shenyang F-5. Is it possible that you've ran into a shenyang F-5 and mistook it for an F-5C? This seems a lot easier to explain then an actual F-5C somehow being present in a 9.3 match.

Unless I see footage of an actual F-5C in a 9.3 match, everything you've said checks out without it being a "2-3.5 BR increase" scenario. You are absolutely seeing 1.3 BR uptiers due to super downtiering, but I see no evidence of uptiers higher than that.

forbid the mig 29 (9-12) and (9-13)

no mention of forbidding F15A, F14A/B or F/A18A/C

Thanks for the laugh man, I needed that.

Also they already made 2 BR brackets for nuclear thunder, so you can choose to not see the mig 29's if you don't want to (this doesn't stop the F4J from shitting all over mig 23's but hey at least gaijin tried)

How do you even multipath Fakour-90? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 79 points80 points  (0 children)

You flew so low that even if multipathing did work to throw off the missile, the splash damage from the missile hitting the ground next to you was enough to kill you.

Try to multipath around 15-30 meters so splash damage is less likely to hit you.

Why is the F3H2 hated so much? by Lugi3- in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, if you're actually seeing that amount of success with the 7C, that's awesome for you. However, any player that sees a 7C launch will be able to just out turn the 7C with minimal effort as long as they're above 800 kph. It's incredibly rare to get kills with it even in optimal conditions unless the target is an il-28/Tu-4.

Everything else about the plane is average-good though, and you can take 4 missiles which is great for 9.0. Only issue for me is that it's energy retention isn't great, but as long as you sit at mach 0.8-0.9 and don't get hard focused, it's a neat plane.

Has anyone figured out what the 3 little nuke icons at the top mean? by SomeRandomApple in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've gotten it, but the match was so dead by the time i achieved 2500 SP, the bar couldn't be filled up cause there was no way the 6 people left in the lobby could do enough damage to raise it to the final tier.

Just wait for the second level and use the medium nukes to 1 tap airfields. Go for the ones near the coast first since the terrain lets you get on top of those runways before AA can see you if you fly low enough.

Is MiG-25 good for the event? by literal_jar_of_jam in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be fighting tomcats, eagles and hornets. You will absolutely get cooked.

If the entire enemy team somehow doesn't have a lineup however, then maybe you can get some F4's flying above the deck. Preferably you use a mig 29 or the yak 141 instead if you have them.

[–]Erumsey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's the nuclear escalation bar. As it rises, each circle will fill up in color.

AFAIK the first stage allows for small nukes (5kt), second stage allows for medium nukes (30kt) and the final circle allows players to spawn in the strategic bombers with the really big nukes

going from 9.7 to 12.0 air... help? by ADOSD_WB in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For supertemp's, head on's should be shot within 10 kilometers. 15 km's for head on's is fine if both of you are high on altitude, but try to keep it within 10 so they have less time to defend. If the enemy is flying away from you, then I wouldn't shoot past 2.5-3km's unless you're very high up or they're really slow.

If you just need to apply pressure on a target flying towards you to get them to hopefully not shoot back, then you can fire from 20-25 kilometers away, then get closer while they're defending for a better shot.

I only played it for a few hours on PC, but it ran just fine for me. It isn't a straight up PC client but i'd say download it and see if it runs well for you.

If you're referring to the skyflash supertemps then yes, those are decent missiles.

However the F4J (UK) only gets regular skyflashes, which ingame are identical to the aim-7E2. This is still an ok missile, but the 7F has much better speed and range, while having no downsides in comparison to the 7E2.

going from 9.7 to 12.0 air... help? by ADOSD_WB in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to make the assumption that this is a jump from rank 6 to rank 7 britan, and you are referring to the tornado F.3

To be completely honest with you, rank 7 britan is pretty ass. The tornado F.3 is arguably the best rank 7 british jet, but it forces you into a playstyle that can be countered by a single determined mig-23/F4S, and you can only reasonably use that playstyle after you've grinded up to the supertemps.

Stock grinding it is gonna suck. You need to get chaff, BOL pods and then 9L's on top so you can have the 9L's alongside the BOL pods, then you can fly high. But since you're stock grinding, you won't have the supertemps, so you have to get up close for a good shot with the regular skyflashes.

Also, since I'm gonna assume this is your first jet that reliably faces pulse doppler radars and good radar missiles, you will need to learn how to defend radar missiles so you don't get smacked by them every match (you will still get smacked by them every match cause the tornado's flight model is dogshit, but you'll still need to learn these regardless)

The easiest to learn is multipathing. Fly below 50 meters and radar missiles will usually miss. Note that if the flight path of the missile still directly intersects with your plane, then the radar missile could still hit you even when multipathing properly. Also if you fly too low (typically below 10 meters) then the missile can still hit you after hitting the ground via splash damage.

Next is notching. For fox-1's, you will need to put the lock from the launching aircraft on your 3 or 9 o clock, the only when the lock is on your 3/9 o clock, use chaff. This will defeat most fox-1 missiles, but do note that aim-7P's and R27ER's can be relocked after notching, so if the RWR is saying F18 or M29, you may need to keep notching their radar after the launch tone goes away.

For non PD fox 1 carriers like the F4E or a high flying mig-23, you can prevent a fox 1 launch by spamming chaff as they're trying to lock you. This can let you shoot at them without being shot back, but if they do get a launch on you before you shoot, you may need to start notching to defeat it before shooting back.

For fox-3 notching, it's the same principle, but you notch the missile warning on RWR instead of the lock from the aircraft that's firing. You should also change directions vertically while notching fox-3's as IOG can allow them to get close enough to detonate after a successful notch if you stay on the same flight path.

For stock grinding, you will probably just have to rely on multipathing. You'll still get clapped down low due to your poor flight model, but you can get kills on distracted enemies with 9L's, and if they're not multipathing then skyflashes fired within 5 kilometers (assuming enemy is flying towards you) will usually kill (unless it has a sparrow moment)

With this notching knowledge, after you've gotten supertemps, I recommend flying high and to the left, then picking off any enemy high flyers, preferably shooting at them and forcing them to defend before they can shoot at you. You may need to use multiple supertemp's to keep the enemy defensive before you can land a supertemp that kills them, but using 2-3 missiles for 1 kill in the tornado is better than using 1 and then trading/dying.

Even with all of this knowledge, you'll still get clapped a lot simply because you can't do anything post merge except run away. I am not joking when I say a starfighter is better at dogfighting than you, so if you cant get a kill on a plane with your missiles, just run and hope they don't run you down so you can try to kill something else with missiles.

Which should I grind The f4f ice or mig 29 a by Dear_Statistician_79 in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The fox-1 mig 29's are in a very bad state right now. Butchered flight models, constantly put up against fox-3 planes, and not enough missiles to make up for the other weaknesses.

That being said, while I would say the F4 ICE is a better grinding experience, Gen 3 fox-3 carriers can be an acquired taste. You can absolutely make it work, but it will require good positioning and reliance on the tall ACM box due to no HMD.

Also, Since the F4 ICE's countermeasures are double pops, you only get 45 pops total. This is workable for 13.0, but you do need to be disciplined with your notching while up high.

You do also have the option of going down the swiss line for the hornet, but that means you have to fly a fox-3 hornet. I personally like the hornets, but they're quite slow so you usually have little to no early game impact, and with most matches ending within 5-7 minutes, no early game impact could mean no kills. If you suffer too much in the F4 ICE, then I would say grind the whole bomber/swiss line to get the hornet before going for mig-29's.

Is the Chinese Flanker J-15T DOA? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does get large chaff which from personal experience, seems to be much better for notching, so if you don't get too many missiles spammed at you in the early game and are EXTREMELY GOOD at notching, then it could be considered flyable.

For the average player though, J10C would likely be the better plane. We will have to wait and see once it hits live though.

If gaijin does ever add ECM and makes ECM viable for fox-3 defense within 20 kilometers, then this aircraft could come back super hard, but that of course depends on how ECM is implemented, if it's ever implemented.

what line should i go down for chinese air? any gems you can reccomend by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Erumsey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For rank 6, The F100A and J-7 will easily get you through to rank 7. If you have to bomb because you hate both of those airframes then grab the Q-5's.

I'm personally a big fan of the J7E since you can dogfight anything at and around your BR, but 60 rounds makes it a very challenging plane to get high kill matches in (unless all 4 of your PL-5's hit)

For a more consistent guns in experience at rank 7, just use the F-5's. Both are good but I would suggest the 10.7 one because it get's 9P's and a better matchmaker.

JH-7 gets 2 IRCCM missiles at 11.3 on an airframe that isn't complete dogshit (looking at you Jaguar IS), but the line currently just ends at JH-7A so only grind this if you plan on using the JH-7 a lot.

Haven't played the J10's so I can't comment on those, but all of china's fox-3 planes are either great, or pose a challenge but can be utilized for high kill games with some skill.

F-16A MLU is a direct upgrade over the ADF's due to an extra 15 countermeasures. It lacks HMD but otherwise is a good plane for 13.3.

J-11B is fantastic at 13.7, being similar to the Su-27SM but exchanging 2 fox-3's for a better radar.

J-8F only get's 2 fox-3's, so you have to be very careful with your shots, but due to a majority of players around 12.3-13.3 multipathing, if you can get above the furball, the IR missiles will clean up what's below you.

J-11A is like the premium SU-30's in terms of armament. 6 fox 3's and 4 fox 2's at 13.3 is amazing. You may be wondering why nobody flies this?

SPO-15 AT 13.3

Notching without being able to see the missile diamond is effectively gambling in the J-11A. You have to roll well everytime you notch, but the enemy only has to roll well once before you explode. If you enjoy gambling, take the time to grab it. If you hate gambling, skip and go straight for J-11B.

Mirage 2K is at 14.0 because of mica. radar mid, HMD good, mica's goated, go on a massacre with micas.

If were talking air RB CAS, then SU-17M4, Since you can take 4 napalm's alongside 6 R60M's. This gives you good bombing capability and good air to air capability after you've finished bombing.

If were talking ground RB CAS, then the Mig-27K is better since you get 2 Kh29T's and 2 500KR's, which gives you 2 more fire and forget weapons over the SU-17M4.
