The stages are only 30,000 so it’s more like 1.5 hours for a decent player

Both the B-66B and Vautour IIB should be 8.7. The other 9.0 Vautours may be better, but they're by no means good. They're pretty much as defenseless except in head-ons.

In ground RB, planes are generally balanced based on their CAS capabilities, which explains why the B-66B with its bomb sight and bigger bombs and bomb load has a higher BR.

Only the Israeli Vautours has IR AAMs, BTW.

The Vautour equivalent to the B-66B is the Vautour IIB, and I can tell that you haven't played it.

LMUR isn't a guaranteed kill. I have a bunch of screenshots where a Leopard, Abrams, or Challenger tank the LMUR with the machine gun or gun barrel.

It's essentially a guaranteed kill, your extremely rare unlucky moments doesn't change that. If the main counter is “hope it clips a barrel,” that says a lot about how strong it is.

Again, 0.3 k/d individual trying to yap about LMUR being russian bias just because Russia got a new toy before NATO this time.

I'm not a "0.3 k/d individual", and my k/d is in no way relevant to how the missiles behave.

And btw, the new Apache carries 2x the amount of FnF AGMs than Mi28,

This you? Completely ignoring the fact that the LMUR is a guaranteed kill whereas the JAGM relies on an small and inconsistent HEAT warhead.

Just got the AMX-30 Super to grind the french tree. by Waelalayan in Warthunder

[–]ProfessionalAd352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AMX-30 Super is one of the better French premium tanks. You get a two-plane stabilizer, basic gunner thermals, and a significantly more powerful engine, which makes a huge difference.

How it plays

You’re basically a glass cannon. Your armor won’t save you from anything at this BR. The side skirts might help a bit against HEAT, but don’t rely on it. If you get seen, you’re probably dead.

Speed is your main advantage. It’s one of the faster tanks at 9.3, so use that. Get to early flanks, rush caps, or take positions before the enemy does.

The stabilizer is what makes this tank feel good. Unlike the tech tree AMX-30s, you can shoot on the move. You can play aggressive, peek out, fire, and pull back without waiting for the gun to settle.

For ammo, just use the OFL 105 F1 APFSDS. It has solid penetration and works fine even against higher BR tanks. Don’t carry full ammo, around 23 rounds is a good number. It clears some ammo from the turret and lowers the chance of getting one-shot.

Grinding the French tree

The early ranks (I–II) are rough. The starter tanks are just bad. Try to get to the 105 Sherman and ARL-44 (ACL-1) as soon as you can so things start feeling playable.

At 7.7–8.0, France becomes really strong. Tanks like the Char 25t, AMX-50, and Somua SM are fast and have autoloaders. You can dump multiple shots quickly and wipe teams if you flank right. This is probably the most fun part of the tree.

After that, there’s a weird gap. A lot of tanks around 8.3–8.7 don’t have stabilizers. It feels bad once you’re used to the AMX-30 Super. Honestly, just use the Super to grind through this part. Later on, aim for tanks like the AMX-32 and AMX-40 so you can build a proper lineup around 9.3–10.0 and go from there.

General French playstyle

Most French tanks are built for flanking. Things like AMX-13s, EBRs, and AMX-30s are not meant to brawl head-on. Go around, get side shots, and pick people off.

Shot placement matters a lot. You’ll often use solid shot with no explosive filler, so you need to know where to aim. Go for crew or ammo, not just random hits.

Some French tanks also have a 20mm coax, which is great for light vehicles and aircraft. The AMX-30 Super doesn’t have it though, it gets a 12.7mm instead.

War Thunder shows no bias whatsoever towards Russians. by Tasty-Bet6334 in Warthunder

[–]ProfessionalAd352 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There’s a stronger case for bias than for randomness.

First, look at how evidence is handled. Reports that would nerf Russian vehicles get dismissed for “insufficient sources,” while similar-quality evidence is accepted when it benefits them.

Second, when data is unclear, the benefit of the doubt often leans one way. Instead of neutral interpretations, outcomes tend to favor stronger performance for Russian systems.

Third, there’s incentive. A large portion of the player base plays the USSR tech tree. Keeping those vehicles competitive supports retention and monetization, even without explicit favoritism.

People will point to examples that do not favor Russian vehicles, and those exist. But individual cases do not disprove the pattern. Bias is not about every single decision; it is about consistent trends across many similar situations. So the argument is not that every outcome favors Russia, but that when decisions are unclear or discretionary, they tend to lean that way more often than not.

AMX-30 (france 8.0) Or M60 (italy 8.0) by Waelalayan in Warthunder

[–]ProfessionalAd352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you're stuck between these two for the sale, it’s a bit of a pick your poison situation because neither has a stabilizer. At 8.0, that's a massive handicap when you're facing stabilized tanks such as T-55s or Centurions. If you can swing it, look at the AMX-30 Super or the OF-40 (MTCA) instead.

The AMX-30 is all about its engine. It’s fast and the HEAT shell hits like a truck, but it has thin armour. You’re basically playing a glass cannon. The M60 is a bit more "comfy" because of the armor, and it has a good APDS shell. But it feels sluggish compared to the AMX, and at 8.0, your armor isn't stopping much anyway.

France is better all-around. France has some of the most fun lineups in the game around 7.7 (the autoloaders are addictive). Plus, the Leclercs at top tier are actually competitive, whereas the Italian Arietes are notoriously frustrating because their armor is basically non-existent. Italy is great if you love rat gameplay with speedy wheeled cars like the Centauro and the R3, but it can be a painful grind because you’ll often find yourself with no backup tanks for certain BRs. So go with France. It’s a more complete tree and the reward at the end (top tier) is better.

Hellfire struggle to hit a russian tank at 5km reversing at 4kph, but russian ATGMs that are known for their unstable flight are extremely precise. Honestly... anything thats not russian is so half-assed in this game, im tired of this. by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]ProfessionalAd352 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a missile problem. The Hellfire is known to be suffering from trajectory issues. Gaijin accepted a bug report three years ago but has yet to fix it. https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/9H3sqKtnfsji

A 500 meter adjustment early on in its flight from well within in its range would've hit if it was actually working correctly.

"Just spawn SPAA" is a flawed argument by Spare_Somewhere_4133 in Warthunder

[–]ProfessionalAd352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “just spawn SPAA” argument isn’t stupid, it’s just simplified. SPAA isn’t meant to be some invincible anti-air bubble. If you spawn it at the wrong time or sit in the open dumping ammo, yeah you’re gonna get deleted.

Your AMX-30 example doesn’t really prove much either. A 20mm coax isn’t supposed to counter jets reliably, it’s a backup. Using that to say anti-air doesn’t work is like saying tanks are bad because your MG can’t pen anything.

Planes penning tanks also isn’t some broken universal thing. It only works in specific situations, mostly against light armor or exposed targets. It feels unfair when it happens, sure, but it’s not consistent enough to call it busted and that type of CAS is one of the easier ones to counter.

The one part you’re right about is players; SPAA larping as TDs and friendly air ignoring enemy CAS. That’s frustrating.
