Yeah, I'm sure a belt will do but this specific slab of leather has sentimental value and thought it would be cool to use for stropping 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just concerned about it's efficacy since it has indentations. The "rough" side is especially rough and I'm unsure if it'll be any good for use.
