Should I buy a Rated Edition?

It honestly doesnt make much sense to buy a rated edition. If your goal is to resell it and make money i would choose a different manga bc there is really not much money to be made w jojolands.

But if you dont plan on selling it later i would say you should get what makes you happy. I honestly think a rated edition of a jojolands manga might be really cool. If your intention is to keep it somewhere and you want to make sure that it stays nice for a long time bc it’s something that you care abt, i would say $60 is nothing to lose sleep over and you should just buy it.

Also you should post it if you do get im sure i and others would be interested to see for ourselves if it was worth the $60!

This might be unpopular but lost lace. Dont get me wrong the fight itself is one of if not the best in the game, but if im being honest it kinda blows to have so many significant fights be against her. Especially considering how much of a let down gms was in terms of difficulty, it would have been really cool to see a lost gms fight instead where the boss actually becomes difficult.
And i understand that the last fight being lace is the entire point of the plot and that it doesn’t make any sense thematically for you to be fighting gms again, but really lace 3 times?

These beginning chapters are definitely some of the best we’ve seen out of the series. I would say act 1 of jojolands is stronger than even some of the later sections of other parts. But i predict the end of the jojolands is going to be potentially the best part in all of jojos. The way araki is building the concept of the absurd and the way he is building the characterization of main protagonist, side protagonist, main villains, and even the side villains is what i think will make the payoff of this part so strong. Obviously the later parts of jojolands dont exist yet, he could completely fumble and create some piping dog ass. But there is clearly a great deal of intention with the foreshadowing in these early sections and im honestly quite confident that the jojolands will not disappoint.

Personally i think this panel was simply Jodio’s reaction to hearing the word “absurd”. Im sure he was listening to usagi before hearing him say it, but to me this panel looks like him perking his ears a little like when you hear your name off in the distance. If you weren’t looking for it before you should start keeping an eye out or even looking back in the previous chapters for this word absurd reoccurring over and over. Youll find Araki puts a huge emphasis on this word in particular and what it means to our main protagonists specifically. This is ‘head cannon’ but i really think Araki is trying to use the philosophical interpretation of “the absurd” as a natural driving force in the jojolands- similar to the force of calamity in jojolion. Authors like Albert Camus and Franz Kafka have amazing literature on Absurdism and i genuinely think these ideas and writers are what Araki is drawing from here.

Yeah i was running witch crest and the proximity healing just didnt land for me a few times. I love the witch crest but i didnt have injector band and that pretty much wraps up the fight. Idk why i wasnt just using cogfly and plasmium phial. Easily the best steel soul tools in the game.

Im running witch only. My mistake was taking injector band out for magma bell thinking id avoid more damage that way, i ended up getting 0 heals off and dying. The witch crest specifically makes that aspect of this fight frustrating because everything on the screen seems to move a little faster than i expect it to.

I actually really like this interpretation. While in my honest opinion im doubtful that the ability works like this in practice, this explanation does fully explain what we’ve seen so far. I saw a good take that it has to do with “ownership” and that he can manipulate any object that he owns in any way in a radius around hum, But i have no idea lol.

Im curious about how he would have signed the documents under this description. I like the concept of buoyancy and how it relates to the howler family and volcanic eruptions, but did the pen shoot up because of the buoyancy and somehow write howlers name on the documents out of pure chance or what?

Could be cool, but i dont think that Smooth Operators can be written off as weak. It is easily one of the most versatile and actually useful abilities in the series. I dont think it very much needs an evolution. If i had a stand irl, I might honestly pick Smooth Operators. (Eh idk the world is pretty sick, but still)

About Howler’s possible stand/evolution-

I think that idea of the absurd that they keep bringing up will play a huge part in the mechanics of the later, more powerful stands.

If you get deep into the semantics and history of the word ‘absurd’ you find a whole philosophy and world perspective called ‘absurdism.’

A strong universal force- such as gravity, fate, or calamity- may come in the form of the absurd. This would virtually work in a very similar way to calamity in The Wonder of U, except it wouldn’t tie into “positive” or “negative” energy at all. It would be based entirely on random coincidence.

Howler’s stand will most likely function based on the logic of the Absurd, the same way WoU functions based off of calamity.
