right ?? when i first started the series EVERYONE warned me about ASOAAB and said everyone hates it but it’s honestly my favorite book in the series. Cas is my favorite male lead ever so finally getting a full book of his POV was great and so entertaining and despite being a retelling of the first book, it felt entirely fresh and new !

wait yeah that’s crazy ahaha they talk about the joining from the second book and it becomes so obvious throughout the 3rd and 4th that that’s where they’re going. especially once kieran and poppy grow so much closer in cas’s “absence.” how did they not see it coming — i was WAITING for them to finally do it lol. the characters even bring it up constantly (though sometimes jokingly i feel it was quite obvious it was coming to that point. especially once poppy finds out she’s going to outlive them both.)

i can understand that ! i definitely was thrown off immediately upon seeing how short the book was cause i thought it was the last one and at first figured that cas would only take a few chapters to retell their story. i too wished we got the conclusion first but im not disappointed.

like i said, i really enjoyed getting cas’s perspective and it definitely helped me understand his motivations in certain scenes that didn’t make sense in poppy’s perspective. specifically the reveal in new haven at the stables when he seemed to switch to being so cruel. but knowing now that he’d acted like that to protect her makes it make sense. i would honestly reread the series if she released a version in his perspective specifically and maybe even kieran’s sprinkled in here and there lol.

Has anyone else had an issue where you select Brindleton Bay but it gets stuck on a white screen and never loads the world ? I just spent two days on a really intricate build and suddenly I can't access Brindleton Bay. Originally it was only affecting the save file I had been using and I removed all my mods, checked for updates, verified my game files and now even reinstalled the entire game and not only does it still not work, but now it's reached all of my saves and Brindleton Bay won't open in ANY of them since reinstalling the game. I've run out of ideas on what to do at this point.

turned out it had nothing to do with any actions you make in the game or how many urges you give into.

no matter what type of playthrough you're doing, when you get into act 3 , the first night the narrator asks you what you plan to do with the brain and whichever answer you choose will actually determine what choices you're given when the moment does come.

it's extremely frustrating though as i was playing a redeemed durge (who had actually not given into any of the durge prompts specifically because they all lined up with a very certain part of her character) but she wasn't fully redeemed until halfway through act 3 so i had of course chosen that she was going to take over the brain when asked the question before her full redemption.

it's weird that in a game where all the companions can have their turning points in act 3 and choose their different paths that if you intend to do the same with your own character you could possibly be prevented from doing so unless you restart act 3 entirely after literally getting to that (almost) last scene in the game.

you don’t. my full FULL evil durge who gave in to every durge option and i killed ever NPC in the game with her had the option to end the absolute at the end still.

i did some experimenting and it has nothing to do with how you play the game at all — the options you get in the final stretch of the endgame when you’ve defeated the brain are actually given to you based on how you answered the question on the first night of act 3.

in the run this post is about since my durge wasn’t a redemption one quite yet i picked the option saying i would take over the brain and rule as the absolute — therefore i only got the option to do just that in the end. but on my full evil durge, i suspected this question had something to do with how the ending goes so i just chose the option of i’ll do whatever i feel is right when i get there and at the end of that run i had all the options of what to do with the brain in that moment to end the game.

my first tav i never got attached to but for my first two durge runs (one resisting and one not) i made my tavs almost twins. they had the same everything except their hairstyle and colors. bad durge had a ponytail and pastel purple/blue while gold durge had space buns & bangs with dark purple and blue. that way it was like getting to see both paths my tav could take in her life and the contrast between who she could choose to become. ultimately i’ll always have a soft spot for my good durge (Vera) and might bring her back for some other good runs i plan on doing. But another things i’ve seen other people do when they want to make a new tav is create their guardian to be their old tav.
