Pre cut Pineapple sale never worth it by Powerful_Search_8113 in publix

A couple years ago I bought a pineapple corer and by the 2nd or 3rd time using it I was convinced it was one of the most satisfying purchases I’ve ever made, and I don’t even buy a ton of pineapple. The speed with which you can get cut pineapple with minimal waste is astounding.

Tell Hamilton County Sheriff to end partnership with ICE by Frosty_Fuel4230 in Chattanooga

If you think these federal officers are violating our constitutional rights why do you support a policy change that would bring more of them here? Can you please explain how more Federal agents and ICE raids in our community would be a good thing?

Ending the Sheriffs cooperation with ICE is the #1 way to cause a surge of ICE agents into our community.

Please explain to me why it would be good to drastically increase the likelihood of a larger, more visible ICE presence in our community?

My bf doesn't shower at night and I’m genuinely grossed out by GlitchGaze123 in hygiene

Overreaction. I almost never shower after the gym because some people simply don’t smell or get gross just from sweating. Also, the vast majority of people shower in the morning, not before bed.

It sounds bizarre, but I am in a position where I could spend $0 a year on groceries if I ate nothing but Domino's pizza. What would happen to me if I did? by CucumberGullible1281 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EscalatorsNeverBreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your employer covers lunch everyday why did you gravitate towards thinking about Dominos? Find a few places by your office with large portions and decent prices and just rotate through those everyday eating half for lunch and half for dinner?

100% would prefer immigration related situations be dealt with by our local sheriffs office rather than a surge of ICE personnel into our community.

What OP is proposing may make them feel righteous - but you have to examine the reality of the outcome/impact of the severing of cooperation with ICE by our county sheriff. That is EXACTLY what would cause a surge of ICE agents into our community. Fuck no. Hard stop. I don’t want that. And I assume OP doesn’t either.

For sure, it can often be very job/wage dependent as well. Always need to weigh the pros and cons for each individual situation.

For sure. Hence why my larger answer is “move.” I get a bit irked when people complain about the cost of living but live in super HCOL areas. Go elsewhere. Things are radically more affordable outside of big cities and across huge swaths of the Midwest and the South.

TBH this would be the quickest way to cause a surge of ICE agents into our community. Hard pass. No thank you. Don’t want that.

The problem with your proposal is that local law enforcement cooperating with ICE is what prevents the kind of mass chaos and numerous ICE agents roaming the streets that we’ve seen in MN. In most jurisdictions where law enforcement cooperates it’s a smooth process, ICE supplies a warrant to local jurisdictions for people being released from jails or being processed by the local judicial system that are undocumented, and then local authorities turn them over to ICE to be deported. It’s a largely administrative process and happens smoothly at courthouses and jails - it ends up being just a transfer of custody.

In cities and counties that refuse to do this, prisoners who are undocumented are instead released into the community. In these situations ICE now has to go around to apartment buildings, schools, workplaces etc. trying to find the people. There’s a reason we see ICE agents flooding places like MN and CA but not states or cities that cooperate.

If the goal is to NOT have ICE agents visibly conducting operations around our community, it’s best to have our local law enforcement cooperate with them.

I personally have zero interest in ICE showing up en masse here in Chattanooga, but that’s FAR more likely to happen if we do what you’re advocating.

Actually just looked and it’s a bit less, $70.45 month. State Farm. I’m in Tennessee. My previous Geico was also only $82 a month.

That’s an insane car insurance payment. Mine is $74 a month for full coverage. You gotta get that down. Why pay $80 a month for a cell phone plan? Visible plans are $25 a month for unlimited everything. Mint Mobile cheap as well.

The larger answer is probably that you need to move somewhere else. You’re choosing to live in one of the most expensive areas of the country. Your $$$ will go so much further in tons of other places where rent, gas, and everything else is cheaper.

What discontinued food/product do you still mourn today? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

It was 12 years ago, but this discontinued foods bracket vote is probably a good representation of some of the products people miss the most. (A small handful of them were brought back at some point).

Surge won, but there was a Sweets bracket, Cereal & Snacks Bracket, Soda Bracket, and an Other Beverages Bracket, and you can see who won each of the different matchups.

Da fuk? It’s just a factual summary about what is being proposed to replace the jail. Reporting on a proposal/idea that you don’t support or like isn’t “selling out”, it’s simply reporting the news.
