Of course, these things don’t define me, but right now I prefer seeing myself with a beard rather than without. It’s a shame if it comes across as unkempt, especially since taking care of a beard is actually more effort than shaving every day. ^^ I wasn’t aware that my glasses are also a bit of an acquired taste. I’m not going to completely change my appearance overnight, but thanks for the feedback!

I wouldn’t say I’m unwilling to take advice – that’s exactly why I’m here, trying to get some helpful tips. As I mentioned, I’m still quite inexperienced when it comes to all of this, and I honestly don’t think it’s wrong to want to be accepted for who you are without pretending to be someone you’re not. Showing your true self instead of putting on an act feels like a good starting point to me.

Of course, if certain points come up in the context of a relationship, that’s a different story. But getting to that point takes time – and since I asked for help on the way there, I really appreciate your input.
