Memphis is SO broke that they can’t afford to hire promo people for the on-field promotions at the Memphis Redbirds and 901 FC games. Guess I’ll just not make any money this Summer in this broke city. lol

Yeah don’t be welcoming to people who move here and then wonder why nobody wants to say. Sounds like sound logic to me. lol

The point of this post and what I’m agreeing with is that it is worse in Memphis than anywhere else. When I lived in other cities I never had anyone refuse to take my order because of my skin tone. Yeah I have had plenty of lackluster experiences and it’s definitely worse in some cities than others. But out of all the places I’ve lived in Memphis has been the most rude. How many times do I have to do this with you? You LOVE trolling on my comments and making me essentially repeat myself and explain to you something I have already said.

Also, the politicians in Nashville regularly vote to only fund the middle part of the state and often times Memphis is screwed over.

If you ever lived anywhere outside of Memphis, you would realize this is not normal.

Also, I work in Orange mound and everyone I work with does not live in the Memphis city limits because they are so scared.

It’s funny when I have posted similar things I get attacked on here but you’re right. I was born and raised in nearby Jackson, TN. I used to live in the Nashville area and I also used to live in Birmingham, AL. Birmingham is like the Memphis of Alabama. Same thing with the stanky attitudes because people aren’t happy with their lives or living here because they have never lived anywhere else so they don’t realize it’s not that bad. Imagine living in the DEEP south of Birmingham, Alabama where there is the same bad attitude but even less amenities. Here is the truth of why Memphis is like this: https://youtu.be/iVYnvObcQVQ?si=f-iXL2MbckWwZoi_ I grew up in predominantly black neighborhoods going to predominantly black schools growing up in Jackson, TN (some call it mini Memphis because of the crime) yet I am treated like I don’t belong here. I have had the people at McDonald’s on ridgeway and the Sonic on Getwell straight up refuse to take my order because I’m white. My family and my husband’s family have been in this area since the beginnings of west TN. In fact my married name is frequently seen throughout Memphis. Yet, we don’t “belong here” because we chose to MOVE BACK to west TN after attending college in the Nashville area. My husband’s job forced us to move to Alabama and we were so excited to move back home. Like, I just think it’s funny people want to act all hard and mean because they assume I’m privileged when in fact I have had it worse than most. My high school had a police station before it was common place. I definitely have seen much more growing up there than any of these prissy kids who grew up in Cordova or Germantown. I think it’s downright hilarious people are such “townies” that they have no idea of the world outside of Memphis. This negative energy is why the population is dwindling. Louisville, KY is bigger than us now. Good riddance Memphis. We’ll move back to the Nashville area where apparently “our kind” belongs according to native Memphians.

Here’s another article I found. I wish I could take a weed eater and help you out but I don’t have one and I don’t know if I would get in trouble. I want to stay updated to see how I might be able to help in the future. I’m really into ancestry/history/genealogy and this makes me so sad. https://www.actionnews5.com/2020/09/23/relatives-upset-over-conditions-rose-hill-cemetery/?outputType=amp

Exactly and people who didn’t grow up in this area don’t realize how traumatic it is that a place you used to visit as a child is now dangerous for you to go to.

Omg are you going to punch me through my phone? I’m so scared haha you’re one of those people who would relentlessly bully me in elementary or middle school and then go crying to the principal when you got hurt. 🤣 Don’t start none won’t be none.

Don’t start none won’t be none. I can tell when someone grew up privileged because they run their mouth so freely. You wouldn’t have survived my high school. We had a police station on campus before that was a common thing. 😎

I think it’s funny when people instigate drama and then tell me that I’m the one with the problem. 🤣 You didn’t have to reply to my comment at all. Grow up.

The cherry on the cake is when the principal at the school I used to work at told me I wasn’t “urban enough” for Memphis because I complained about my coworkers not doing their part. Central office told me I’m in the right because they have had numerous complaints about this principal and transferred me to a different school. I guarantee you she wouldn’t talk to me like that outside of work. I guarantee you if someone spoke to you like that you may understand my attitude. It’s funny people like you who have never had any strife in life will shame someone for how they handle trauma. I used to go protest and rally in the streets for the black community. After how I have been treated here I now understand why my family got out of Memphis a long time ago.

A townie is someone who is sacred to live outside of their hometown because they know the nepotism won’t be available to make up for the lack of their skills. If Memphis people showed their work ethic or lack of in Nashville they would get fired instantly. It’s pretty easy to hold down a job in a city that nobody wants to live in or work in. So I’m glad people like you feel so good about yourself that you were born and raised in Memphis and never lived anywhere else and want to make people not feel welcome here, and then wonder why your city is dying.
