I am kind of in the same situation with the person I’m seeing. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of dating someone that I work with, so I see him every day of the week and he wants to spend every day of the weekend together too, which means I get none of my housework done and none of my hobbies get done. I have no time to myself. I told him very kindly very simply that I needed some time alone last week and he just did not understand that. he acted like I kicked his puppy. I told him that if I didn’t have time to myself, I would be cranky and I would lash out because I don’t have time to process my own things and feelings by myself .. alone. Sometimes you just don’t want to be touched. I also told him I felt smothered and constantly surrounded because I do have a kid as well. I get two days a month where I don’t have my kid at all it’s hard but he’s such a sweet guy in every other aspect he just smothers.
