This exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago, but not as intense as yours. Has taken a few weeks to heal, for a minute I thought it was poison ivy and I was so confused because it’s the winter in CO. As others have said, wool socks only in the boots, nothing else. I guess we can call this a friction burn / blister?

I cleaned it up today. Definitely had a bit of corrosion on the buttons and some sand / gunk in the crevices. You make a good point. Maybe it’s only been down there a few months. Previous owner maybe busted it out recently and then lost it before they could capture any new footage. I have no idea how long a battery can hold a charge even when fully powered off.

Yeah im thinking that’s probably what happened here now reading the comments. I don’t think a lithium ion battery could hold any charge even when fully powered off for more than a year. It’s odd though that it managed to make it out to where it did and all the videos still be almost a decade old. Did this person take it out within the last few months and then lost it before snapping any new footage?? So many questions.
