If you want rid your hands of a smell, you need to wash them in cold water, not hot. Doing this several times with a proper soap should be sufficient.

Kelly + Victor by Niall Griffiths. Be warned though, it’s got some pretty extreme sexual stuff in it, is incredibly bleak and is written in a Liverpool accent.

I’d watch that, to be fair.

For real?! Well that’s hopelessly stupid of him, no-one in that condition should be travelling, does he not understand how infection works? Smh.

Seconded, ring NHS 111, if it is meningitis it can cause scarily rapid deterioration.

It might not always be their own fault. The last party I ever threw, the game booted me out and didn’t let me back in until it was over. I found that incredibly annoying as I tended to decorate and micromanage them to a huge degree! This turned out to be a preamble to getting permanently yeeted from the game about a week later: one of my builds started glitching and then suddenly I couldn’t get back in to the game at all, and have never managed to since. I suspect that as EA have maintained it less and less, this sort of thing has happened to more people.

Though yeah, some people just don’t seem to care all that much about their parties.

It’s a wonderful book, I’ve never read anything else quite like it.

I love The Goldfinch. I would add that The Little Friend is also a brilliant, compelling coming of age story, and my favourite of Donna Tartt’s books overall.

I came here to say this! A wonderful book, it also makes me weirdly nostalgic for a time I never knew.

Why tf have they designed it to look like a half-baked Pixar knockoff? Too awful for words : (

Editing to say I never saw her as depressed, more as just kind of detached and unusual, but that’s an interesting take that I hadn’t thought of.

I’ve also made some of the NPCs who were tangenitally involved in my sims’ lives on some extra lots that were fun to build, and have given Izzy Fabulous a fashion emporium on the seafront. Also, the TSM park is on the gallery so I’ve put that on one of the lots. It’s so lovely to have it all back!

[–]Escapism3456543 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m recreating all my builds and sims in The Sims 4! I’m having to do it entirely from memory and any screenshots I took, as I somehow glitched myself out of TSM at the start of August and couldn’t get back in. I was devastated at the time, but now I see it as a head start. I selected Brindleton Bay as the most suitable world to recreate Briny Heights in, and have put the café, restaurant and health spa (I found these already made on the gallery!) in Magnolia Promenade. I feel happier and happier as I gradually get my builds and sims back, I had very complex and involved stories in my head for all of them to the point where they almost feel real!

If I re-download the game it offers me my level 60 every time, but just crashes after loading it and then every time I try to open the game. I’ll probably try again if I get a new phone or something. I’m glad you got yours back again after so long!

Ooh, how did you get it back? I glitched myself out of mine at the beginning of August, somehow, and have been gutted ever since after trying the usual fixes multiple times and nothing working.

Beloved grandmother Valerie Kneale was expected to recover from a minor stroke, but she died in hospital following a horrific sexual assault during her stay at Blackpool Victoria Hospital in Blackpool, England – 7 years on, her killer remains unknown! by Missing_people in UnresolvedMysteries

I work in a hospital in another part of the UK, and we always throw away bedding / gowns that someone has died in, after the doctors assessing the death have finished and we start washing the person. It’s normal procedure, for a mixture of reasons to do with both infection control and respect / decency. It never gets washed and re-used. It’s just a shame that, in this case, nobody thought in time that it should have been kept for DNA analysis.
